Latex Questions!

So. I want to do some casting of latex and maybe plastic for some suit making purposes. (think noses, horns, hooves, etc). I've been reading a lot about such a process, and it's starting to make sense, but it seems EVERYWHERE claims their products are the best for making molds, latex, expanding foam, etc

Joe & I have been dabbling in sculpting/casting stuff and so far we have only used the latex mold, haven't actually cast latex or anything.
I have been kind of hesitant to do latex for stuff to put on costumes, though, not only because the wearer could have allergies but also because people coming in contact with the suit might have allergies too. So I've been looking into silicone as an alternative...
