A quick whine

I'm trying to register for an introduction to macroeconomics course at my local community college. I expected the process to be easy. I would call them up, give them my money, and then go to the class. But I actually have to apply, take a math placement test (!), and send transcripts. I feel the stress of college all over again! ;-D ( Read more... )

I had to do the same thing for a statistics class I took. I think I've taken statistics in some form or other three times now. Do I know statistics? You'd think so, wouldn't you?

Macroeconomics sounds ... fun. Enjoy!

It's always the fourth time one takes stat that it becomes clear. ;-D

I hope macro will be fun. But I think your ...fun is probably going to be a more accurate description!

LOL! You need espresso! Oh, wait you don't drink espresso... Okay then, tea; yes, tea will help.

LOL!

I actually took macro in college, but I can't remember any of it. I talk about economics in my history classes often enough, and I thought it would be good to take a refresher course.

I've never been brave enough to take sadistics. ;-D

I love that you are such a learner. I really try to be too, but sometimes I stagnate. Writing is an amazing learning journey for me.

Huh? And with a Ph.D.? Man, that ought to count for something, you'd think!

Well, considering the Ph.D. is in history, no. :-D

Now that I've accepted that I have to take this test, I'm actually glad about it. It's good that the school has certain standards, and goodness knows that I could study up on basic math!

Your icon makes me smile. I still haven't seen POTC2 or 3. I have been listening to the POTC3 soundtrack a great deal, though, since my sister sent it to me. I always feel very adventurous when I'm listening to it!

Your attitude is better than mine would be. I'm a grumpier sort.

As for POTC, I've not seen the third, either, so don't feel bad. I can't really see it with my sons because it might be too violent or scary, from what I've heart, so I'll wait for the DVD. Anyway, you know I have to own it. ;)

I've written some POTC fan fic, but just a very little, since I gave up on the Salty Knob. I can't quite get that she-pirate thing out of my system.

I'm not surprised by the maths test though. Hope it will okay, I had economics this year and it was just weird :D

Happily, I just passed the math test! So, I can take econ, which I agree is weird (based on my limited experience with it). But I want to make it less weird for my students, and since economics terms come up all of the time in history, I thought this would be a good opportunity. I may be eating my words next month when I'm taking the class! ;-D
