Indeed we do, my dear! Isnt that just fun...btw, a week going and the song is still popping into my head every so often! *headshake*
Now, for the meme...
1. What was the best book you read this summer?
I havent read many new books this summer, I finished the Potters re-read before The Book of Doom -better known to others as DH- came out. Since finishing DH I've gone back to books in Spanish. I read "Stories of my lonely whores" a few weeks ago and I'm re-reading "One hundred years of Solitude" -the 40th aniv edition- with lots of literaty analysis and geeky stuff like that that I've enjoyed lots. Both by Gabriel Garcia Marquez :)
2. Best film you saw?
Transformers (yes, I am a geek!) and probably Bourne Ultimatum, I really enjoyed it, and it has awesome views of Madrid which made it even better! LOL
3. Best story/piece of art/other creative endeavor you created this summer?I havent been creative at all this summer but I like the only drabble I wrote for the HBP challenge at RTW because it was ( ... )

Re: Bourne ... I actually thought of you when he was in Spain! Ultimatum was a pretty good film. Have you read the novels? Even though I know the story now, I'm tempted to check them out to see if I get to learn more about the characters.
How great that your story has a story behind it. ;-D
I just looked up pictures of the Asturias, Cantabria, and Galicia. You're a lucky girl! ;-D

1. I finished A Natural History of the Senses, by Diane Ackerman. I wish this woman would have been my bio teacher in high school. Great read.
2. I only saw OotP. How lame is that? So, I suppose OotP.
3. My furniture refinishing opus would be #1; an original story that invaded my brain while I was embarking upon it would be #2.
4. Again, I don't get out much, but the trip to the beach was amazing.
5. N/A. I am soooo ready for cooler weather, though.
My herb container garden was thoroughly enjoyed by my dog *facepalm*. I didn't think about it when we got him, and by the time I took measures to protect it, 'twas too late. Only my rosemary survived.
Have fun on your beach trip!

It's not lame that you only saw one film. It's lame that I've seen a billion. ;-D
Wow, one act of creativity led to another! That's great that you wrote an original story.
Did you dog have good breath after his herbal snack? ;-D

Okay, here are my lame answers:
1. DH is the only book I've read this summer, so that makes it the best by default, I suppose, which isn't exactly the same thing as my really liking it, is it? :-)I started a couple of fantasy/sci-fi books that were lying around the house, but I can't get into that stuff. I've mostly been web searching for real estate and reading property descriptions all summer, which at the moment, is providing me with more enjoyment than anything else. Oh, what a wicked soul and lazy reader I am.
2. I haven't seen any films at all this summer except on television, and the TV programming over here is crap!
3. Um...I painted the bathroom. :-)
4. Ah, at last I have something to rave about. I traveled to Ghent and stayed with sigune. Sectus and London were alright, but Ghent was fabulous ( ... )

These aren't lame answers. And don't you dare apologize for your reply!
I actually think real estate ads are lots of fun to read. It's like taking a trip to a bunch of different houses without having to worry about seeing people, which can be very nice!
British TV, crap? ;-D
What color did you paint the bathroom?
I painted my spare room "familiar beige." How boring is that? The only exciting thing about it is that I got beige splotches on the ceiling, and really, that's not exciting, that's sloppy. But I like to think that I'm providing an opportunity for my guests to wake up laughing in the morning. First thing they get to see ... my mistakes. ;-D
It's great you traveled to Ghent and stayed with sigune! I'm incredibly jealous, actually. (Oh, I just realized. Horrible person that I am, I don't know that I ever responded to your latest email. But if I didn't, I meant to say this: the Treaty of Ghent isn't the most relevant piece of history, so don't feel bad. ;-D ( ... )

I painted the bathroom Champagne Fizz, which looked vanilla in the can, but came out too lemony on the wall. Oh well. Familiar Beige doesn't sound like a bad choice. I bet it's easier on the eye than Unfamiliar Beige. :-D And sometimes it's good to paint a room a neutral shade to let the furnishings stand out. I painted my office Cappuccino, which, I'm pretty certain, is the UK equivalent of Familiar Beige. :-)
I'm doing well, although I do feel rather isolated here without a car. In fact, I've had a string of Familiar Beige days lately, I guess.:-)

Oh, I've missed you!
I painted my office Cappuccino
Seems like British paints are all named after drinks? ;-D
I wish you some Champagne Fizz (not lemony - unless we're going by the fanficiton definition and you want lemony) days in the near future! :-D

I hope to see Stardust this weekend!
The SSHG entry was very good. And since I read it in the summer, I certainly think it counts. ;-D The Snily has been really good, as well. Can't wait to see how that wraps up.

2. I went to the cinema only once this summer, to see OotP. If I manage to see Ratatouille before the end of August, does it still count? I really, really don't want to have to say that OotP is the best movie I saw this summer XD. I mean, the film could have been worse, but really... *g*
3. Ride of the Valkyrie, I guess ... because I still can't believe I managed to draw the horse reasonably well, and I love how the sky ended up looking, and Snape's hair too, and Brynhild's scarf. (This is the only question where I have several options to choose from XD.)
4. Took only one trip, but it was a good one: Sectus in London, with _vocalion_. Apart from the Appalling Book was, it was great fun :D.

(Okay, I'm an idiot. I'm sorry that you're going to get this message multiple times in your email!)
Hi, sigune!
I heard that Stardust was originally a graphic novel.
I know what you mean about OotP. I liked certain scenes a great deal, but as one film, I thought it was lacking.
I managed to miss Ride of the Valkyrie. I just looked it up on Deviant Art. I really like all the aspects you mention; I also love the way she holds him. I love the image of a woman as rescuer instead of rescued.
I'm glad Sectus still managed to be fun ... but then, how could hanging out with _vocalion_ not be fun? ;-D
