Early Life
Faith was born in South Boston, Massachusetts, on the 14th December 1980, and is better known as a Southie. Her mother, unnamed, was an alcoholic, and at the age of four her father, George Patrick Lehane, was imprisoned for murder. Faith was raised believing he was dead, told by her mother he had been killed in a bar fight, and did not in fact meet him until many years later, after she went to visit him in prison while in the care of her Watcher at the time, Professor Diane Dormer. In her early life the only father figures Faith had were in the guise of the various "lowlife boyfriends" of her mothers. Most were alcoholics like her mother, one at least was a drug dealer on top of being partial to drink; and all of which relationships ended the same way, "every single goddamn time she gets dumped" by them. Superfluous to say, none of which were ideal role models in the sense of being a good father figure or a good example as to how a man treats a woman when he is in a relationship with one. It is assumed that she is either a Catholic or a Roman Catholic, and that she has been baptized, as she has mentioned wearing her Holy Communion dress in one of her dreams; notably in a church she knew as St Augustine's where her old priest Father Francisco was "droning on in Latin from the front of the church".
With her mother mostly reliant on alcohol and favoring the current 'man' in her life compared to looking after her own daughter properly, Faith spent most of her childhood years in the company of her imaginary friend Alex. She 'met' Alex when she was around the age of three or four years old, while she was residing at Columbia Point and in the care of her grandfather at the time. Once she moved onto her High School years she spent most of her time in the company of her best friend Tommy; not just to escape her home life or her absent mother, but because her Tommy were both classed as somewhat outcasts by their classmates, and Tommy was the only person at her school that had ever been 'cool' to her. Faith and Tommy had many adventures together, but they came to an abrupt stop when Faith caught him being beaten up in the boy's locker room during school hours. Naturally Faith came to his aid, but in the process she blacked out and ended up putting the main instigator, Sam Flynn, in intensive care. His injuries sustained from Faith included him missing half of his teeth, a broken arm, and his skull fractured in three places. Faith's punishment wasn't only her being suspended from school by the principal; but resulted in being shunned by Tommy, who moved away shortly after the incident. Besides a few beloved possessions in a shoebox that he left her was a goodbye letter and the knowledge that he was never coming back to 'this hellhole of a town'. Faith never heard from or saw Tommy again.
Before the fall out incident with Tommy she even starts to have dreams, or more precisely ones that lead to nightmares, that center around her imaginary friend Alex. They would all center around the same theme; her and Alex would either be fleeing from a group of women, who later she discovered were Maenads, along with their master The Father, who she also later discovered was Kakistos. She also had many visions of when Alex's mother Artemia died and how, including the weeks leading up to her death; as if she herself was Artemia but retained her own conscious self throughout. She experienced the last weeks of Artemia's life, including her death, while she was asleep and awake.
After Faith was suspended from school she spent most of her time alone at home, due to her mother being absent from her home life as usual. It wasn't until Faith had her scheduled regular weekly visit with her Social Worker "V" that she discovered her mother had been arrested a previous two nights prior for drug possession and solicitation, and that she also hadn't been working for over six months at her job as a waitress, which was in violation of the terms of her mothers parole. Surmising that Faith's mother wasn't providing adequate care for her, her Social Worker arranged for Faith to stay with foster parents, while she recommended to the court that her mother would be put in rehab and undergo counseling.
Faith's foster parents, who lived in a "three-story clapboard house" were a Mr and Mrs Jones a.k.a Mrs Gothic, both were dubbed the "American Gothics" by a girl called Jess who was staying there at the time. The Joneses were very formal when it came to meal times, and numerous prayers were recited at each sitting before any food was allowed to be consumed. Religion aside all foster children present in the household were "crammed into rows of bunk beds". Despite the Joneses infatuation with the good book and their strict rules of how they ran their household there was something more sinister within their walls. Or more precisely in their attic; their own son, Robert that had died almost fifty years prior, and having been turned into a vampire the Joneses, unknowing with what to do with their child, kept him chained and cuffed up in their attic where they fed him any badly behaved foster children in their care which had 'run away'.
After waking up from nightmares a few times Faith kept hearing noises such as scratching, thumping and dragging along the ceiling, and she was determined to find out what was up there. After putting out the garbage one night and seeing what she thought was a kid up at the attic window for a second she was more determined that ever to find out now 'who' or 'what it was. The following morning after breakfast Mrs Jones was in the basement doing the laundry and her and Jess took her keyring off of the table. Jess then kept watch while Faith went to investigate. Not long after opening all the locks on the attic door she soon discovered at first thought was not a dog but in fact a person: "He lifted his head and looked at me, his eyes squinting in the light but still giant pools of panic, and my heart broke into a thousand pieces. It was a little boy, five years old maybe, his hair matted down over his forehead, trembling, holding himself around the knees". Faith's heart went out to him and she was about to help set him free when she realized exactly who he was. He lied and pretended to be Alex, not know that Alex was indeed a little girl. But Faith saw through the lie of what he was, having witnessed countless times herself men lying to either her mother or herself. She saw through his guise, figuring out that he was "someone who had been screwing with people for years" and that he was no "little boy" but "some kind of monster".
She hadn't even been Called or discovered that she was a Potential Slayer, and yet she found herself face to face with her first vampire. Soon Jess and Mrs Jones were there and a tousle between Faith and Robert ensued where Faith tried to prevent herself of the others from being eaten and at the same time from Robert freeing himself from his shackles. Despite accidentally pulling down the curtain that was covering the window in an attempt to pull herself up, which then burned Robert, she managed to snatch it away from him as he quickly reached for it, and then "watched as he went up in flames". Despite the fact that she had gotten bitten by the child vampire and was freaking out Faith learned that there were others out there like him in the cemetery and that they only fed at night. When Faith said she was going to tell the police Mrs Jones pointed out that: "They never believe any of you. You think this was the first time he was discovered?". Faith knew Mrs Jones was correct and that her story wouldn't be believed, so her and Jess left.
After going back home to find new tenants and no word of her mother or Gable, her mother's latest boyfriend, Jess helped her out so she could stay at a friend's house. With no word of her mothers whereabouts, not even from "V" or any authorities that Faith had contacted by phone, Faith was all alone besides Jess and Alex. Faith spent her time going literally from couch to couch with Jess at various places of Jess's friends, while she carried on trying to find out the whereabouts of her mother.
After many weeks, on February 27th, Faith managed to acquire a job as a waitress at a diner in Allston, Shortly afterwards Faith discovered that her boyfriend, Steve had been stealing from the record store that he had been working at, and one he had been fired from but didn't tell her about. She pretty quickly figured out that he had indeed stolen everything he had given her, including not paying for meals when he had taken her out to dinner, but instead had gotten her to wait outside while he 'paid' the bill, but instead skipped out without Faith even realizing what he was doing. After she tracked him down at their present home and talked to him she saw through his lies and for the first time saw what kind of person he was; she decided he wasn't worth the effort, packed what little things she had, then left after saying to tell Jess that she said good-bye. She felt she had no choice but to find Gable, and make him tell her where her mother was, so yet again she went back to her old place. "Mr. Friendly Neighborhood Tattooed Biker Guy" came to the door and informed her that she should try looking at the Combat Zone for Gable. And it was there, near the corner of Washington and Kneeland in front of a strip club that Faith "saw a woman in a leather mini and skimpy halter leaning into the passenger window of a big blue Cadillac, offering herself up to the driver". It wasn't until after the woman "got into the car and the light hit her face" that she saw it was her mother. Faith couldn't believe that her mother had turned into one of Gables women, working for him like all the others she knew about, and that he was her mothers pimp.
It wasn't until some time in the beginning of March, and by her own hand from her diary entries on the 8th of March, that we discover Faith was actually admitted to the Belmont Center, a mental institution just a few short miles out of Boston, or mental hospital if you will, in Belmont. She is coherent enough to write again, and from her diary entry we learn that she is now getting three meals a day, which she states herself she hasn't had in a long time. We find out she "had one of those pretty little hate blackouts" that she and her Social Worker "V" used to talk about after the car returned that her mother had gotten in to. According to her counselor, Terrance Smyth, the police report stated that Faith "pulled the driver, the lone occupant of the car, out of the driver's side window by his hair and started slamming his head against the curb". The police arrived and restrained Faith, and then the paramedics arrived and gave her an tranquilizer injection. They took her to the "serious city loony bin" and "doped" her up, and Faith didn't remember any of that either, except "the screaming and then the singing" in her head. The following day, February 28th, they had moved Faith to the Belmont Center.
Faith's dreams still continued, of her and Alex and the women that were after them both, and in one of her dreams the women succeeded in capturing Alex, much to Faith's distress. During her time at the center Faith attended counseling, group talk therapy sessions, and got to spend time in the game room, reading room, and had access to cable television, albeit it was always on the Discovery Channel. Much to her surprise she also came across Killian, or Kenny or "K" as Faith preferred to call him, the drummer from Freak Wharf, her favorite band, and her former friend Tommy's favorite band also. "K" was in the Belmont Center for being a paranoid schizophrenic, but he was actually had the psychic ability to create solid astral projections called Tulpas; astral projections from his own and from others subconscious minds.
On March 22nd got to leave the Belmont Center in a "shiny new Porsche" with her soon to be Watcher, Professor Diane Dormer, a professor in the department of Folklore and Mythology at Harvard University, after being told by her: "Your destiny awaits". Now known as a Potential Slayer Faith spent her time studying demon texts and training to be a Slayer, along with training in weapons and hand to hand combat in the form of Jujitso and Akido training from Sensei Kanno. She spent a great deal of time learning what it was to be a slayer, along with studying the Slayer's Handbook. Her days were relatively the same, and all purposefully planned out; from her six in the morning run until she fell asleep at midnight, with lots of various training in between her three square meals a day, all of which were planned out every day and taken at the same time as well.
It wasn't until mid April that year that Faith's dreams about Alex came back, and in full force. Along with coming into contact with Kenny, "K", again, she discovered that her mother had been found dead. And on top of that her dreams of Alex became more severe. Her blackouts were back, but this time they were of a different nature: Faith had been experiencing just how Alex's mother had died. Just like all other Potential Slayer's and Slayer's had visions of how previous slayer's had died. This included when Alex's mother Artemia died and how, including the weeks leading up to her death. That was a very rare situation for Faith, having literally been in the slayers shoes as it were in her own dreams, and upon waking; as Alex, a Vengence demon, granted her mother's dying wish and enabled her to possess Faith's body so she could kill the vampire Kakistos that had killed her. Artemia was an active slayer, at an uncertain time between 490 BC and 38/39 AD. This was why Faith was having blackouts, Artemia was in possession of her body during this time, and on a mission to kill Kakistos in revenge for killing herself.
While in her watcher's care, Faith also learned that her father was in fact alive, and not dead at all like her mother had led her to believe he was, and in jail. He accidentally killed an undercover cop while robbing a liquor store when Faith had been four years old, and was sentenced to twenty five years to life for the crime. Faith went to see him in prison at South Walpole, on June 18th, which was about half an hours drive from the city where she was. She had already learned from the Professor, her watcher, that he had just turned fifty, and in her diary noted that he looked younger than Faith herself had pictured. Once Faith was seated, with a glass divider between them, Faith picked up the phone on her side so she could talk to her father. This was very much reminiscent of when Faith herself was in prison for killing the deputy mayor of Sunnydale, at a later date, and Angel came to visit her, except of course the conversation and atmosphere between the pair was totally different than this prior event.
During their time together Faith revealed to her father that her mother had died two months prior, and after saying he was sorry to hear that he informed Faith that he had nothing to give her. Then he went on to reveal the origin of Faith's own familiar catchphrase that she herself adopted after her visit with her father, the "Five by five," that Faith says to someone to let them know everything is okay with her, even if in fact that isn't the case at all, after Faith questioned what it meant upon hearing it: "I was in the war, Vietnam, back when I wasn't much older than you are now. It was a hell a young lady like you could never imagine---fighting for you life, waking up in the morning and not knowing whether that day was going to be your last. Jail ain't nothing compared to that. Even still, bad as it was, it made the highs that much higher. Made you feel alive. We used to say that. 'Five by five. loud and clear.' Radio transmission talk." He went on to say how he thought things would go better for him once Faith was born but it never did, and then he was quiet for a while before Faith realized the reason was because he was crying. Faith's father essentially broke down before her eyes: "I'm sorry--- Sorry for being such a lousy father. I never should have done it. All those things I did. You didn't deserve it. None of it. You were just a little girl. I was such a bad man. --- I'm evil. I'm bad, I'm evil."
Faith by then had stopped listening after a numb feeling took over her, because she didn't want to know what he was saying. It was then that she came to the conclusion that she "didn't need his sorry apology", just like she "didn't need him" or her "bitch of a mother or anyone else". In her own words Faith revealed just how she felt in that moment:
He looked so pathetic. And all I could think was: I curse you with all my heart. "Dad," I said. You broken little man. "It's not your fault," I said. I hope you die in here. "It's not your fault." "Thank you," he said, still crying. "Thank you." And then something passed between us, a cold shadow, and I saw it reflected in the glass like something bad had gotten loose and taken flight. "I won't be back," I said into the phone, and he nodded, suddenly scared like he'd seen something fierce in my eyes, something he didn't want to see again. And then I hung up the receiver, stood up, and walked down to the end of the visiting room, waiting to be let out by one of the guards. And it's true. I won't be back. Not ever. Because now I have nothing left except slaying. That's all I am now: a killing machine, built for speed and ready to roll.
After her visit to her father Faith's blackouts from Artemia's possession of her body became even more severe upon that evening, with her watcher revealing pages of her own diary so she could be filled in on things Faith had said to her, or more precisely Artemia had said to her. After learning the extensive gravity of the situation she was in, and after having a conversation in her own mind with Artemia, she quickly succumbed to agreeing to allow the Professor and Kenny to aid her. And with the help of her watcher and Kenny, a spell was finally performed, to rid Artemia's presence from her body and to stop her from possessing Faith's body further.
The damage of Artemia's possessions of her body had already been done, and Faith soon found herself in the situation of finding out that Kakistos had captured her watcher. On her arrival Faith watched as Kakistos ripped her watcher in two, and unable to save her, or herself, she ended up being then captured by him. However, using her rage and with the aid of Artemia's spirit, Faith was able to overcome both the Father and his minions, killing many and dealing Kakistos both a sword slash to the groin and an axe wound that cleaved is face in two, a wound from which he would never completely heal. Faith then lit the hideout’s support beams on fire, causing the entire lair to collapse.
With no Watcher to guide her and Kakistos on her tail, Faith fled Boston, but not before exacting her revenge on Gable for her mother's death. She came across him in an alleyway near the bus station, where she found him beating up a girl the same age that Faith herself was. Faith got her revenge in the form of violence for Gable 'causing' her mother to end up dead and Faith to end up without her. On the bus out of Boston to New York, Faith was confronted once again by "Alex," who cleared up the final questions regarding Faith's visions and Kakistos. Faith believed it was Kenny's unique abilities that brought Malice's power back, although this remains unclear. Malice then vanished, and Faith continued onward to New York, eventually arriving in Sunnydale some time later.

The Slayer Side
Her mother was an alcoholic and it's more than possible that she physically and verbally abused her daughter. There's a hint of the former when she said, "My dead mother hits harder than that!" and that hitting is, frankly, the only thing Faith knows how to do when she's been hurt. Despite the incredulous fact that Willow recovers from a hit from a Slayer, it's one of those annoying things that must be ignored from a story point of view. Willow has genuinely hurt Faith (verbally) and Faith's reply is to hit her saying: "You hurt me, I hurt you." This, obviously, indicates that Faith has a lack of verbal sparing - which makes sense if you grow up without an adult to help you with day-by-day conversation.
There's never any mention of her father from Faith, and it's only from her own journal writings that we learn that she did in fact go to visit him in prison. However, later on when she is in L.A, we get a glimpse into a Faith's life where a male figure was present. While Buffy and Angel fight, Faith freezes and is unsure of herself and what to do. I think it's safe to say that in this scene, Angel and Buffy represent her mom and a father-figure. Someone somewhere along the line, looked out for Faith while she was with her abusive mom. We just never know who and for how long she had him. We're also given a bittersweet snippet, of Faith looking longingly at a little girl who is not unlike herself, walking hand-in-hand with her father. Is it something she's always desired? Or is she remembering someone who was like that for her?
Faith grew up in a place where she was ignored and quite possibly abused in every sense (see first part of her biography). Her knowledge of bondage and 'safety words' are alarming for someone so young. Also, during the time while Faith has possession of Buffy’s body tells us a lot. Passing herself of as Buffy and about to be intimate with Riley, Faith is truly confused. She first asks Riley who he wants her to be. Slightly thrown, Riley tells her that he'll be 'Riley' and she can be herself i.e.: Buffy. Later, clearly never having been 'loved', Faith freaks a little and asks Riley what he wants: ". . .from me-her." Not being able to take, or more than likely, understand, 'true' love, she leaves. It's very moving and makes Faith even more vulnerable.
Despite her background, Faith doesn't appear to be stereotypical. Despite being poor, and dressing as you imagine a street kid would, Faith did appear in some nice clothes in her debut appearance in Sunydale. She even had leather slacks! However, by the end of the day, she was in a pink sweater covered by a black tank top. Before her crossover with the Mayor, Faith lived in tank tops (usually white) and denim jeans. There was only one time that really broke the mould, and for obvious reasons.
Getting back to stereotypes, you'd expect Faith to most likely drink, smoke and swear. She didn't do any of those things earlier on. In fact, she even told Buffy she dumped a boyfriend because he was a kleptomaniac! That was Steve. It was always thought that it important, as it lets us know that she has values. Of course, after she returns to Sunnydale later on, but with Willow, Faith does drink, smoke, and swear, but it is very probable that she picked those things up during her time in prison. Or, of course, she was like that earlier on, after she first got to Sunnydale - and we were just never shown it.
Sunnydale
Faith is amazingly loyal, too. First up, it seems she's genuinely upset about what happened to her first Watcher. She gives the impression that her initial Watcher was more along the lines of Giles. Perhaps even more caring than him, because she knew Faith pre-Slayer.
Also, even though the reason given about Faith's loyalty to Gwendolyn Post is that she saw her as a 'mother' figure is true, it didn't mean that Faith would be 100% loyal to such a horrible woman. But where Post had Faith pegged, was (supposedly) telling her the 'truth': "I'm going to be very hard on you, Faith. There may even be times that you'll hate me..." Despite the literal giggle we all received from Faith's "Y' think?", Faith was loyal to her. Right up to where Post said: "A word of advice. Faith, you're an idiot.
"Even before that, Faith was loyal to Buffy and Giles. Unfortunately they didn't return the favor. Buffy's 'watching out for her never happened'. Although, she did attempt to 'save' her from The Council.
Determined not to be used and/or hurt again, Faith switched teams. Completely fed up with Buffy comparisons Faith became hurt and everything she was jealous of Buffy for, took over her life. Her only way out (at the time) was to go to the Mayor.
Her crossover to the Mayor's side sees Faith almost become a child again. She dressed in baby blue and her hair is pulled back, making her look more innocent. Also, Faith's leather jacket never quite fits. The Mayor continually gives her gifts and sings her praises.
This really gives you the biggest clues to Faith and how to get to her. Simply put, Faith is forever looking for love and will do anything to get it. It's documented that the writer's deliberately 'dangled carrots' in front of Faith, blinding her to seeing what others saw. She was blindsided by Gwendolyn Post, because she thought she finally had a mother figure, she was blinded by the Mayor because he was her father figure. Also, she was so consumed with hatred, she didn't care much about his 'ascension' plans. What brought Faith to the Mayor was firstly, sanctuary, then a mutual hatred of Buffy and company. He treated her like his daughter and she reveled in it.
Faith's 'crossover' could be seen coming and for every reason she listed. Buffy's labeling of 'sick' was clear. It turns out, Faith wasn't 'sick' - she was merely in touch with the 'primitive' Slayer. Ironically, she did become more distanced from reality, to a point of legal insanity. By being Buffy's opposite number and only encouraged by her father figure (the Mayor) Faith loses herself in the 'bad girl' role.
Realizing what she's become, is her road to redemption. Ironically, the most likely reason Faith realizes she's 'bad' is courtesy of a gift left by the now-dead Mayor. Being able to swap bodies with Buffy, Faith realizes what it's like to be able to help people rather than hurt them. In a truly heartbreaking scene, Faith is seen bashing the crap out of Buffy in Faith's body. She loathes her own image and who she's become. When Buffy is able to swap herself back, Faith flees and is in an abyss of self loathing by the time she gets to L.A.
Los Angeles
While in Los Angeles, she believes herself worthless and "bad". Numb, Faith revels in her 'bad girl' reckless abandon for a while. But by the time 'Wolfram and Hart' get to her, she's almost realized that she has nothing to live for. She plans on dying by Angel's hand. The 'Russian roulette' scene between herself and Angel positively screams that at us. She knows she can't hurt Angel with bullets. But he can kill her. Indeed, she taunts him into taking a shot at her, which he does! It turns out to be a blank, but still, it could've easily been a real bullet. He would have killed her if he had pulled the trigger more than once, and Faith knew that. She wanted it. Angel wasn't willing to kill Faith though, hence her going after Wes and Cordy. She figured that if she hurt his friends, he would kill her. By the end of the episode, she begs Angel to kill her. Thankfully, having been through the torment of realizing all the pain he himself has caused, he knows Faith's pain and is only too willing to help her on her road to redemption. Angel begins the task of saving Faith's soul, forgiving her and working to break down her emotional walls. Just as Faith begins to feel remorse for her crimes, Buffy arrives, looking for revenge. In the meantime, the Watchers' Council also shows up, intending to kill Faith. Faith decides to surrender to the police and face the consequences for her actions, eventually being sentenced in a women's prison, where Angel visited her occasionally. Faith, ironically, finds some level of stability in her prison life, noting that at least she has three meals a day and an occasional movie. Although capable of escaping at any time, the penitent Faith chooses to cooperate with the terms of her confinement.
Escape From Prison
But while in prison Faith is attacked by a fellow prisoner named Debbie , an agent of of the First Evil in prison; although Buffy and the Scooby Gang in Sunnydale are aware of the threat posed by the Bringers, they had neglected to warn Faith of the danger. Soon after, she is recruited by Wesley to help find Angelus (Angel's evil persona) and assist in restoring his soul yet again. Without hesitation, Faith breaks out of prison. Wesley later tells her that "it had to be you" because of her determination to save Angel without killing him. She battles Angelus and just before he defeats her, she injects a powerful drug, known as Orpheus that incapacitates both of them. While Willow works on a spell to restore Angel's soul, Faith and Angel go on a psychic mind walk. The drug almost kills Faith, but during the mental link with Angel and Angelus, she is persuaded by Angel not to give up, because for them, the act of atonement never ends.
Back In Sunnydale
After Angel's re-ensoulment, Faith leaves with Willow to return to Sunnydale to help Buffy and her allies battle the First Evil. She initially follows Buffy's command even though she has some doubts about Buffy's decision-making skill. Buffy is less than enthusiastic about Faith's return, but recognizes that reinforcements are desperately needed, and Faith shows dedication to being "one of the good guys." However, when Buffy loses the confidence of the group and is kicked out of the house, the Potentials turn to Faith for leadership. She reluctantly agrees to lead, but her first attack leads the Potential Slayers into a trap. Faith is badly wounded but is saved by Buffy and the surviving Potentials. When the Potentials complain about Faith's decision, Buffy defends her, and she and Buffy finally make peace, noting that the friction in their relationship is perhaps due to the fact that under normal circumstances, two Slayers are never supposed to live at the same time.
Post-Sunnydale
Faith appears as the protagonist more than a year and a half after Sunnydale's destruction. Faith is an active Slayer in Cleveland, Ohio. Robin Wood, now Faith's ex, leads a squad of Slayers. Rupert Giles, head of the revived Watchers' Council, contacts Faith to make a deal: if Faith can assassinate an evil British Slayer known as Lady Genevieve "Gigi" Savidge, residing in London, Giles will arrange for her to relocate permanently to any country of her choosing, with the promise of never having to resume Slayer duties. To get close to Savidge, Giles educates Faith in British formal etiquette and teaches her how to speak in a British accent. Faith is largely successful in befriending Savidge, although her disguise as British aristocrat "Hope" is entirely blown when Buffy is summoned by Roden for Gigi to kill. Buffy brings all of Faith's issues to the surface, and in recognizing Faith, blows her cover.
Betrayed and unstable, Gigi turns on Faith. Genevieve sticks her axe into a tree and sprints toward Faith. Faith kicks Genevieve in stomach, knocking her back and impaling her on the axe. Faith rushes toward Gigi as she dies. Roden appears flying through the broken glass and Faith begs for him to heal Gigi. He refuses, saying that Faith should be his new Slayer, and that she would be better than Savidge. He says that together they can make Buffy disappear forever. He hands her the "twilight" book, and she looks at it blankly before refusing his offer. Roden and Faith start fighting. Roden summons a hand out of the earth which cements Faith to the floor. As Roden is about to deliver the killing blow, Giles appears from behind and stabs Roden in the back with some garden shears. Faith throws Giles Roden's book and Giles opens it and yells out one of Roden's containment spells. He puts the field inside Roden and expands it, which leads to Roden's head blowing up.
The following morning, Faith and Giles are back at the apartment. Giles hands Faith her passport out of the country, Which Faith accepts, but renounces her plans for retirement. She says there are more Gigis out there she believes she can help walk over from the bad side, liking herself to be a "Slayer Social worker." Giles agrees with the idea and decides to be Faith's partner in this, given that he and Buffy aren't on speaking terms anymore.
London, England - (Uncanon)
Faith inevitably remained in London, England, doing various assignments with Giles and for him when it was called for. Shortly afterwards Giles was called to a retreat in the countryside to help a Coven of Wicca’s there. The same Coven retreat that Willow went to stay with when she was trying to regain back her self-control when it came to magick. After Gile’s had left Faith continued to slay anything bad that crossed her path while he was away, but after a while grew weary of taking on the task alone, and being on her own again with her conscience, everything that had happened between her and Gigi was constantly on her mind.
Back to L.A.
As always when things were too hard for the Slayer she fled, and just like last time she fled straight to L.A. She started to take some time to herself, using her salary from the Watcher’s Council to have the odd night of fun out after a hard night’s work of Slaying to help her wind down. It was on one of her nights out that she ran into none other than Angel, which was inevitable really that she should cross paths with him again.
Faith was again attracted to him immediately, just like she always was when she was in his presence, and she couldn’t resist flirting with him making it crystal clear that she was interested in him even before she dragged his ass onto the dance floor. As the songs changed while they danced in each others arms, Faith felt the familiar connection between them, one that was always there that she had been forced to squash down a little reluctantly over the years. Although it wasn’t long before Faith gave in to what she had always wanted, and pressed her lips to his. Surprisingly enough Angel had returned her kiss, and it wasn’t long before they were making their way out of the confines of the club and back to the Hyperion.
Once back at the hotel it was a long night. One that started off with Faith beckoning Angel closer before she pulled him into a heated kiss. And one that went on to her teasing him with the taste of her blood to lure him finally into bed. Though, they didn’t exactly make it to the bed the first time, or the second in fact. Although it didn’t end there. They spent nearly every moment in each others company after that night, one which didn’t end in Faith fleeing from fear, but ended in a totally different way altogether. The night had ended with the pair exhausted and falling asleep in one anothers arms.
