[they say that idle hands are the devil's workshop, but after finally stumbling back home and passing out in his room for a good half of the day, Sora's not much into leaving the comfort of his bed and the company of his friends to really put that saying into practice

Hello Sora, it's good to know you're all right. I'm...the same for the most part.

[He then draws this for Sora to look at.]

This is my home.

For the most part, Frederic?

[that drawing likely blows Sora's right out of the water, but frankly, it doesn't take much.]

Your home looks really nice. What kind of things did you do when you weren't fighting?

I...lost someone very close to me on the battlefield.

[He kind of practiced sketching and drawing since he was young, Sora.]

I was a composer and pianist, performing in all different places.

I'm so sorry... [there are a few scribbles that follow, like he's trying to offer words of comfort, but they're not coming. maybe Frederic's searching for a distraction, like he is.]

It was always comforting to get back home after traveling too, right? At least, that's how I'll feel once I get home.

I'm not a great artist, but mine is... something like this.

[he gets the idea, either way-- Sora's never really known what it's like to live anywhere other than an island and maybe the inside of a Gummi Ship for a few nights at a time. it's nice, being able to see others' perspectives.]

What was it like living there?

[Lyn, meanwhile, has been pretty much across her entire continent and at least had to sleep a few days in every climate imaginable from desert to mountains. It makes her appreciate the plains.]

It could be hard at times, especially in the dry seasons where food got scarce and fire could start easily, but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

Home is always home, no matter where it is or how harsh it is, huh? We would sometimes get really bad storms back on the islands.

Oh that's a lovely drawing, you've got quite a talent there!

Oh! [Sora... just stares at his drawing for a few minutes-- it is pretty good, huh? he needs to get some colors or something and start making it a masterpiece.]

Thanks! It's as best as I can remember the island, anyway. Where are you from?

I'm from a place called Gunsmoke. It's very big and empty and dusty, so I'm still getting used to seeing all this green everywhere, and all the water.

So Gunsmoke is... a desert, then? That's an interesting name for it.

[Ven does a quick doodle of his world. Cliffs, mountains, the castle... It's all there, albeit kinda scribbly. Ven's not a great artist, but he might be a little better than Sora.]

That's what my world looks like... sorta. Maybe it'd be better if I told you about it.

[if Sora didn't have a fairly huge lapse in memory, he'd say that castle looks almost familiar.]

Okay, Ven! You can tell me about it.

[In that case, where to start...]

It's kind of a small world. The only people that live there are me and my friends, plus Master Eraqus. But even if it's small, there's a lot to see.

There's a ton of mountains, rivers, and waterfalls. We all live in a castle up at the top of the peaks, so there's a great view of everything, especially the sky. You should've seen it during a meteor shower! There's nothing else like it.

Really? I haven't seen a meteor shower since I was really little.

... And wait, if you lived in a castle, does that mean you're royalty? [HIS PRINCE OF HEART THEORY IS TRUE OH GEEZ--]

What an interesting place, Sora-kun. Is it an island?

[A moment later, Naoto draws a sketchy drawing of small Japanese homes and a country road with what looks like a grassy field on the other side (rice fields)] This is where I live with my grandfather.

Hey, Naoto! Yeah, I live on a world called Destiny Islands.

[a pause as he examines her drawing, an eyebrow quirked slightly in thought.]

It looks nice. What was it like there?

As I thought. Those trees don't exactly look like you'd find them outside tropical areas.

[Small pause before writing again] It's a peaceful, quiet country town, quite dull actually. Though, to be honest, I treasure it as my home town.

Riku might call our home dull, too... but I wouldn't trade it for any other world out there.

... Especially not whales.
