[...okay. Okay, maybe he could have handled if it was just one of the boys that had been turned into a child, but both of them? Roxas can practically feel the tension headache already.]
The pirates aren't going to want you guys unless you have treasure. Do you have treasure?
[silence on the little one's end for what probably feels like several very awkward moments. then Sora finally pipes up, his voice a little... curious. for the strangest reason, he recognizes Roxas' voice.]
Firefly guy? [Roxas has no idea what's going on here, just that suddenly his Other is practically no older than a toddler (actually, that just about makes Roxas and Sora even in age now) and he's really not sure he likes what this all means.]
I'm a friend, yeah, but probably not the same guy. I think you met Ven.
[Rain or shine, there's training to be done. Except, you know, when you feel like grabbing something to eat. Aqua would probably chide him if he forgot to stop and eat while there was rain, since overexerting himself used to be a problem when he wasn't ... you know, as strong as he is now.
He does pause on his way to the bakery when he sees kids playing in the rain, though.]
[another face Sora vaguely recognizes, if only in passing. after all, back home, he'd been more interested in charging toward the docks on the play island in order to continue their pirate game.]
[which, really, makes today no different at all, in a way. regardless, Terra may very well be a pirate, and Sora has a goal to accomplish! three... two... one... CHAARRRRGEEE!!!]
[... is standing there for a few minutes and having an internal crisis over whether this particular pirate is too tall and hardcore to be taken on an option? Sora just... glances a bit wildly at Riku for guidance.]
[he'd been about to head indoors, still dripping wet from the rain, when something in his little heart twinges and Sora turns to look at Ventus. not the identical boy he'd met earlier with the voice just like the one he'd reached out to back home, but the recognition's there all the same.]
[he stands rigid there, slightly unsure, and hoping with all of his might that Ven recognizes him, too.]
[is that even the right word for it? Sora wouldn't know. he just looks up at Ven almost pleadingly. they're already friends, right? he needs that sort of confirmation.]

[Riku's going to grab onto his arm and yank him back.]
Hold on! He's not a pirate.

[Once he gets a little closer, he kinda stares at the two. Blast from the past, much?] ...And Riku, too. Both of you.

Naturally, Riku grins, raises his stick, and points right at him.]

He has to do a double take, then rub his eyes. When'd he get so...?
Okay, yeah. Ven's hurrying over now.]
Sora? That's you, right?
