where did all the good jeans go?

I tried to buy some jeans last night. I picked out a few brands and sizes then headed to the fitting room ( Read more... )

Ugh, yeah. I have had the worst time finding jeans that fit and don't have that damn ugly whiskering on the front. It allegedly makes you look skinnier, but for me it makes my belly more noticeable and the lines are like arrows pointing and saying "HEY LOOK AT THIS CROTCH!"

I have ONE PAIR of jeans that work for me right now. ONE! They are St. John's Bay boot cut; the waist is a little higher than I care for but they work. I like Eddie Bauer's jeans but they have gone berserk with the whiskering. I'm trying to tough it out until whiskering goes out of style and I can buy normal jeans again.

It sounds like you have the same fitting issue I do -- long in the stride (more distance between the belly button and the crotch). I have loooooong hips and absolutely cannot wear hip-hugger or low-waisted jeans unless I want a full front-to-back wedgie and/or plumber's crack.

F'ing jeans. >:(

I was searching for some additional validation on my woes and I found page after page of women begging Levis to bring back 100% cotton high quality denim for women. I might just have to troll the men's section everywhere, hit goodwill or just start splicing more jeans together myself.

I don't understand the need to put spandex in denim for women's jeans. I normally wear a size 4 and I have to buy a 0 because once they've warmed to my body, they stretch out that much. It's worth it to be uncomfortable for the first 30 or so minutes of wearing fresh jeans if it means they're not sagging off my ass for the rest of the week.

Believe it or not, I've had some good luck with Old Navy jeans, specifically the Sweetheart cut. They're not perfect, but they're the closest I can come when I don't want to spend a ton of money on clothes that are just going to get wrecked at work.

I think that Lands' End or LL Bean carries jeans that they will hem to fit? I know that Lands' End will hem chino khakis to length, check and see if they do that for jeans too?

Man that sucks! D: As someone with a tiny waist and HUGE ass who can't wear normal jeans, I thank the Goddess for stretch denim, however, I don't understand why ALL women's jeans have to be stretchy!

Most people can count on being fucked by the fashion industry at least once every five years (as in suddenly you go shopping and can't find a damn thing to wear). The pendulum always swings back, though.

Well we can't all have perfect bodies.... but we all try to keep in shape as we get older. *laughes gently*

Maybe it's a sign as the fashion industry is changing, a new trend or us getting old fashion (we'll all maybe end up in 'Star Fleet' uniforms one day lol *jk)

Just find whatever is comfortable and whatever works. Be proud of what God has given you (your body). ^_^ Good Luck
