Didn't think about Carson/Ronon too much before reading "Hunter", but that fic got me hooked and I was bouncing when I saw a new one :)

I really like the Earthling's world through Ronon's eyes and 'the ambush celebration ritual' cracked me up. I'll think of Ronon whenever someone mentions a birthday party :)

Radek as a tyrant... oh, yes! There's a tyrant gene in all scientists/geeks *grins*

Thanks so much for your note - I'm really pleased you're enjoying these fics. Basically, they're little side stories off a Carson/Ronon fic I'm working on. Because, sometimes it's just fun to take a litte breather from that to write a short fic. Hope to have more soon, either ficlets or main story, real life permitting. This is fabulous, just on that perfect border between dry wit and woundedness that's so very s2 Ronon. I can't *express* how much I love Ronon getting silently huffy that no one is intimidated by him anymore -- charming and totally believable! And trying to forestall the mere possibility of a future surprise party, and winding everyone up (?) by claiming to be 46, and knowing enough to realize that the way to get news around Atlantis is to tell Miko. Just so many deft, clever little touches -- can't wait to go on to other parts of the series!

*g* I'm so glad you enjoyed the dry humour in this. Because, for me that's pure Ronon - the wit, the underlying pain, and the way he stands just a little apart from everyone else.

You know what's weird? I wrote the whole thing about Ronon's age in a totally dead-pan way. So much so that *I* didn't decide one way or another whether he was winding people up, whether he really was 46 years old either by Earth or Satedan convention, or some bizarre mixture of both. Honestly, I have no idea; that's the truth! :D
