I'm sick of winter, too! BLARGH. Normally this week (well, in 2005 and '06, at least) is earmarked as my vacation week in Vermont ( <-- that link shows my beloved hideaway in Stowe), where snowy mountains are actually what one would want. But being stuck here this year is making me crazy!!

But! On an up note, which would be much more interesting to you if I'd gotten 'round to sending you that picture I mentioned a while back, my Mom has just realized that our back yard is now home to a beautiful barred owl. She loves owls, and we see this fellow every day now. (My Mom is also terrified of mice, so having owls around is probably a good thing.) I'll try to get a shot or two of him for you, and I'll make myself remember to send that other pic that our neighbour took a couple of months ago, back when we were skeptical about having owls in our area at all!
