In a hand-delivered envelope, under her doorpurmonculOctober 20 2011, 14:45:42 UTC
My Dear Ms Doyle,
Apologies for not being more in touch - life is full of blessings lately, most of them Chinese. "May you live in interesting times." My times have been extremely interesting, so very interesting that I have to tell you about them, possibly over dinner, tonight if you're available. If you are, cut this note in half and I'll pop over at 7:00. If not, burn it, and I'll just call you, dislike of the comms be damned darned. (Like a sock of loathing, to keep my foot warm at night.)

[Gemma almost steps on the note when she walks in the door after work. Curiosity overtakes her immediately; she hadn't received a note like this in a long time. Not even bothering to set down her bag and coat, she opens the letter, a smile slowly making its way to her lips as she reads it. He was right--the two of them hadn't really spoken in so long, and as much as she said he was too bold (by half), she did miss his wit. And, as she had no plans for an evening meal that night, it seemed decided.
Finally shedding her coat and tote, the redhead went to the kitchen for a pair of scissors. She cut the note, not even wondering how he would know her response--magic was funny like that. Seven o'clock it was, then. She had better clean.]
forgive my lateness I made a polyvore JUST FOR YOUpurmonculOctober 25 2011, 20:12:48 UTC
[He's not on-the-dot prompt, but it's barely a breath past seven when Sirius knocks at the door. His taste in clothing has at least improved with age, but then again he'd always cleaned up infuriatingly well. Either that or he had a tendency to get infuriatingly grungy sometimes. This is what comes of dedicating one's youth to being more or less professionally infuriating.]
Ahh, that's much better. The number of gorgeous redheads surrounding me had begun to dip dangerously low.
[Is he going to get away with some oh-so-continental cheek kisses?]
i approve of this use of polyvoresorcerouslyOctober 25 2011, 21:02:18 UTC
[Gemma may or may not have been watching the clock to see if he would arrive on time. She had been ready to let out a triumphant 'ha!' once seven o'clock came, but just as she'd opened her mouth to do so, she heard a knock. Rolling her eyes a bit and straightening her dress, she took one last glance in a hallway mirror before opening the door.
He had, indeed, cleaned up nice. She'd forgotten how charming he was based on looks alone--the last few times she had seen him, he had looked half-dead from exhaustion. But now, well. Handsome was a good word for him.]
You didn't think there might be a reason for that?
[But luckily for him, she does allow the kisses, even going so far herself as to returning a light one on his cheek. She's been in the City for well over a year, after all--she was aware that such things weren't as taboo as they were in her time.]
