I was 15 when I first used an internet name in chat spaces, which was "girly." Weirdly, people started copying it. Soon there was a lot of variations of spellings and I found it annoying. When I needed a new name, I looked at my family's bookshelves in the living room, and there was a book titled The Essential ELLISON, and Ellison was written all huge on the spine. So I thought, that would make a really cool name, and began using it for all my online spaces.
