Spring Break Update.

So, supposedly I need glasses. Reading glasses, actually. I picked out the frames today, and I look pretty spiffy. O_o;

I started reading a romance novel for the first time. I have to say, I have read better romantic fanfiction. Infact, I find fanfiction more enjoyable than the adventures of Sophy Borring and Earl Julian Ravenwood! -_-;

Let me reccomend the "Blaze" series romance novels.
As a rule, the cowboy/firemen-themed stories are the priceless.
I think that the 'blaze' novels have more steamy sex or something... but the whole idea of white republican heterosexual sex doesn't do anything for me.

I'm more one for period peices, historical romance, myself. Ah, the tortures of high society! The heterosexual sex is fine for me, although I just finished reading this really akward passage where they have sex for the first time, and the wife is all.........well, she is a virgin, so it wasn't so steamy. >_>;; Plus, these people have NO character! Nice thing about fanfiction is that their character is a.) established, or b.) you can weild their character to your making! BWAH HA!(since, I do read phantom of the opera stories, and that is pretty...hetero).

Hmmmm...glasses. I had them since I was like...in fifth grade or something. Yea...I actually used to think glasses would make me look cool and stuff. I wanted glasses so much! BUt man when I started wearing them it can get pretty annoying. But anywho, yay romance novels! Yea yea I know, sometimes I'm so bad I go out to a local drug store to get those really cheesy cheap paperback books.

The guy is such an arrogant bastard in the book, but I guess such was characteristic of the time.

Luckily for me, these glasses are only for reading when my eyes get tired, not all the time.

Well, you might have picked a terrible romance novel... Diana Gabaldon is much fun, and so is (allegedly) Georgette Heyer (for example Devil's Cub - clever, historical, no sex). I personally like Maeve Binchy, though with her, it's often about emancipation and love. And of course, the Bible of romance novels, Gone With The Wind, never to be topped.

This one is quasi-about emancipation...not too much, though. The man is exceedingly arrogant, which I guess could be attractive in some ways. In all honesty, I picked up the book because I was in the mood for something romantic, and I had no movie, and was too lazy to search out good fanfiction. My sister consumes romance novels, so she always has them lying around. Last one I attempted to read was terrible! All the dialog went:

Ms. Applegate turned towards the man, his large figure blocking the doorway, "Oh...! Mr. Winthrop...!" she exclaimed, attempting to smooth her ruffled feathers, "I had...not expected to...see you until four...for tea."
"I decided to come early"
"I can...see that..."

"..." of DOOM!

Sounds like the average romance novel, as far as I know (but I don't know too many... my sister's the one with rows full of these ^.^; ). At least it has some sex - some of those are just as bad and don't even have sex. ;p

Oh, and Maeve Binchy is about emancipation as it often involves married women "breaking out" or how they are cooler than men. But it's still totally romance, which is odd. Oh well, it's Irish so all is good. ^o^

Everyone knows that glasses are sexy!

Exactly the reason why I wear mine, which are black rimmed and give my that "studious student that is also attractive" vibe.
