I headed out to the Bay Area today, Berkeley, to be specific not ONLY to try and beat the heat of Sacto....but to visit my friend Micheal who is taking super hard intensive Japanese classes there. Yay for Chai! I actually thought about doing the very same thing, because I have this pre-packed Masala chai at home (well, now I'm out of it) and apparently, all Indians make their tea themselves, so I'll try out some recipes now and learn more (and especially buy spices!) in India. ^o^

Oh yes... I'm back from Croatia. ^.^;

I went out to the Indian grocer and bought some masala, but I have to say I didn't like it as much as I did with the first batch I made. I think that is because masala has peppercorns and anise seeds, which makes it not as sweet or 'spicey' in a way I liked. My first batch I made with cinnamon stick, all spice, cloves, and freshly cut ginger. It came out really good. Much better than starbucks, I think. ^_^
