So. Say I accidentally started reading a Torchwood story. And say that I absolutely loved, adored, omg LOVED this story beyond all reason. I've poked around on delicious a little, but I'm hoping someone can point me to some of the big Jack/Ianto fandom classics? The fics that I absolutely have to read? Not that I'm even sure that many on my ( Read more... )

Dira Sudis's Get Loved, Make More, Try to Stay Alive is amazing!

Technically mpreg, but not really. As she says, less than 19% mpreg by volume.

A Matter of Time, which falls in the "epic" category and is one of the first stories I read in Torchwood that really seemed to grasp the implications of living forever.

And then two stories by copperbadge: The Doctor and Mr. Jones, which has a premise I've seen before but is still the best take on it so far, and Compromise, which is one of the best stories to show Jack and Ianto getting into a sexual relationship, post-Lisa. Brilliant.

Those are just the few favorites I have, but if you really, really want to waste hours, I have all of the ones that I really liked listed on my Doctor Who recs page here, with the Torchwood stories at the bottom. Fair warning, though, I don't list summaries, just title and pairing, so you might want to check headers when you click if you're trying to avoid certain things in this fandom. (mpreg, blatant kink, and insane levels of angst are Very common things in Torchwood fandom, for perhaps understandable reasons.)

Yay! I'll definitely be giving those stories a try! (And thanks for the rec page link! I'm more than a little scared about diving in to some of the fics blindly so I'll definitely be reading headers, as well as story endings. I'm discovering the hard way that my happy, vanilla smut fics are scarce in this fandom. :D)

Dira's was the only one I remembered off the top of my head. *g* I made the mistake of trolling through one of the Jack/Ianto comms once upon a time. To say it made my eyes bleed is too kind. I now stick to fic that crosses my f-list. Maybe I'll memory this post as a cheat sheet. *g*

And also, hi!!! Have you seen Fast & Furious yet?!!! Eeeeh! *bounceflailbounce*

I haven't seen FaF yet!!! Soon! :DD (I hope!) I did read a review somewhere that said it's basically a movie about two men crushing on each other. :D hee!

I'll add Pocket Watch Boy by mhalachaiswords and, well probably not a classic but a recent one I enjoyed, and that would be Starring Mr. Ianto Jones as Himself by basingstroke. *g*
