The phone conversation starts when Nikki calls to make sure Liz is buying the right brand of ice cream bars, and manages to last the rest of the ride home. When Liz pulls into the lot at their building and parks, Nikki must hear the change, because she asks, "Are you home?"
"Yeah," Liz says. "I'm gonna hang up now."
"Okay," Nikki says. "Hey," she adds, voice going low. "I'm trying a new look."
"Oh yeah?"
"I think you'll like it."
The warning helps Liz to keep a hold on her grocery bags when she reaches the kitchen and finds Nikki leaning against the wall, wearing knee-high leather boots, a scrap of lacy underwear, and a smirk.
Liz carefully sets the bags down onto the counter and turns to eye Nikki, taking her in properly.
"This is your new look, huh?" she murmurs.
"Yep."
"For everyday or just special occasions?" Liz teases.
"Just for you."
"Hmm." She takes a step forward, letting her hands settle on Nikki's hips, then sliding one up along her side to thumb at her bare breast. "New boots?"
She nods. "I like the message they send."
"What's that?"
Nikki meets her gaze. "Fuck me."
