Last year,
ulrich did some computer work for my dad, and didn't have time to finish it before he got evicted. My dad got his computer back... but told me it was missing an expensive vid card, and that the 120g drive was replaced with a much-smaller 4g drive.
I tried to reach Ulrich to find out what happened over several months, and wasn't able to reach him. He didn't respond to my e-mails or messages sent to him through two of his closest friends. At the time, I thought it was an admission of guilt that he wouldn't respond - Now I know that there was no response that he could have made then that I would have believed even if he had responded.
I was wrong. I was way wrong. I'm just glad that I didn't go blabbing to everyone what I thought he'd done. There were a few I told - two of his friends in trying to reach him, two of my friends - all of whom read my journal.
Dad just sent me a message saying that he JUST NOW opened up the computer & found out that the drive was indeed the same 120g drive (only 4g had been formatted, so it showed up as a 4g drive). He also found the video card - in the box of equipment that had been returned.
Ulrich, I'm sorry I doubted your honor. I know better than to set up my friends with my Dad for business now. He's too forgetful & too quick to assume the blame lies with others. He didn't do it on purpose - he did it out of clueless ignorance, not any sort of malice. I doubt that he'll apologize directly to you (even though that's what I hope he'll do) - but I wanted to apologize for my own mistakes.
I'm sorry. I'm glad to hear that you have happinesses growing in your life. Thank you for the help you provided me. I'm sorry that it cost our friendship.
