An update

I finally got my G1 yesterday! I also finally got all my marks for first term, and I have to say, 2008 is off to a pretty damn good start. I'm having mixed feelings about posting my marks here, but I've always done that in this journal, except in the past they've always been in the failing-to-barely-passing range, so now I feel like I'm bragging. Thanks! Yeah I'm more concerned with money as opposed to marks, but I figure the higher my marks, the more likely I am to get scholarships and such. I'm already like $12000 in the hole.

I think you're right about the meditating thing. Like everything else it takes practice and commitment.

Meditation should be something that relaxes you, try to find a comfortable spot to do it in, and if you need to put some some very quiet music (prefferably classical, or something abiant) I usually preffer to meditate before I go to sleep, (so when I'm already in bed) that way I know there won't be any distractions, and it does help me to fall asleep loads faster.

I think in the Buddhist sense at least meditation should happen in a relaxed environment but will not always be a pleasant experience. I may try using some music to help me relax though, but I'm a little worried it will make it even harder to focus. Also, meditating before I go to sleep won't really work for me, cause I share a bed with Nick and my cat, so there are lots of distractions :P

Thanks for the tips <3

Congratulations on your marks~!! That's so amazing~!!! ♥

First times are always hard with meditation, espeically if all you're going off of is a book or internet knowledge. Maybe see if there's a buddist temple around or if anywhere has meditation lessons; mum took them, and they really help. ^^

Yeah I remember you mentioning your mom meditating. Does she still do it?

There's a buddhist "center", they don't call it a temple, relatively close to me, but I'm sort of avoiding going (which I know is silly). I checked out there website and mostly all it talked about were retreats (which cost money) and Sunday meditations, which are not directed and you are expected to have some experience. But I suppose if I just went in there and talked to someone they would help me...I just need to work up the courage to go.

She doesn't go for lessons anymore, but she does meditate.

Go on~~ On and chat with someone- they might know somewhere to learn how to meditate or give pointers and help you out! YOU CAN DO IT~!! ♥
