hey thanks for the MUCH NEEDED update. man texas is pretty damn far from mass. I think if you had to chose an opposite state for mass it'd be texas. So congratulations on your 180 in life. I hope it goes well! Your roommate seems pretty chill so far, and hey any opportunity to regain your Mandarin is as good as any (I studied Mandarin for a year when my little sister first got here from Wuhan). But again, thanks for the update, and please continue! Bon Chance - Laura

hi Laura! so nice to hear from you again. thanks for reading my lj. yah, i've been quite lazy about updating, but i will do my best. texas is actually not that different than mass except for the hot and dry weather, really. well, i haven't actually been here long enough but i'd say that since i'm near the city, it's actually not that bad.

props to you for studying mandarin. it's growing on me the longer i practice talking to them. still, i would say that i'm an English speaker. it takes a lot of concentration when listening to mandarin :P

anywho, i must go read some books now so i'll ttyl. hope you and your family are well! au revoir!

On!!!! I hope you are enjoying Texas. The update was most appreciated and I am sorry I haven't returned your call yet! I am so bad with phones. . . much better with email and lj posts. Remember to drink a lot of water since I hear it is outrageously hot in Texas. Miss you bunches. What is your new address? Send me an email with it.

hello sora! how are you??? i hope that things are going well with you. no worries about the phone call. i realize how hard it is to keep in touch when life is pulling you in all 2000 directions. :) still, try to relax and just enjoy everything. i'll remember to drink plenty of water, and you remember to take some time to breathe. take care now!

You won't be a lazy bum once you start doing research and officially start school! You'll be just as busy as you were at NU

bonjour kristie. comment allez-vous? haha, awkward moments? i never have any of those.... :P i'll try my best, though. but how best is it to answer your question... i wouldn't say that things in texas are a lot bigger. what i would say is that there is much more land and everything is much more spread out. people operate a little slower, and that is annoying sometimes. like when we went to compusa to pick up a computer. it was already preordered, but took an amazing 30 minutes for them to get out of the backroom. the sales associate then proceeded to sell us a warranty for almost a third of the price of the laptop. annoying. anyway, gl with school! sorry i wasn't able to make it to your concert, btw. joanne said it rocked :)
