Moving?

Mar 25, 2005 12:10

Everyday I notice another moving truck on our street. Todd and I were both wondering what was going on. Everyone was moving out, it seemed. At first, we thought that the families were just being transferred to another fort or getting out of the military. But then we received a call this morning ( Read more... )

Not too short of a notice. We don't have to pack ourselves. A moving company is doing it. They could've told us we were moving today and it wouldn't have been any different. The moving company arrives on the 12th and transfers our stuff over to the new place the same day. All we have to do is clean the appliances in this place before leaving.

I'm very excited. I love moving to a new place. I love the change.

It's the same walls, floors are somewhat different style of tile, and no, there isn't carpeting. None of the homes here have carpeting. If they did, the people who move into them wouldn't be able to have pets and the military likes to accomodate people on that issue. And if they did offer carpeted housing, I'd turn it down so we could have our dogs. We can buy our own carpeting real cheap in town, though, and cover the floor ourselves if we want to.

How exciting!! I love moving (well, not the packing part!) I always feel so refreshed when I move some place new. I just wish I had the luxary of free movers like you do! haha The three of us are going tomorrow to look into buying these remodeled townhouses. We pass by them all the time and their website shows lots of improvement. They say they're in the $100's so that sounds like a great price too! We were originally going to wait and buy an actual house, but now we figure that it will build up equity while we actually OWN property. Then we can either rent it out when we move or sell it and put it towards a house we really want. They have 5 models and 4 of them are single stories. I don't ever want a two story again! Oh boy, now I'm rambling on. lol Anyways... how exciting for you!

I must be a odd person then, because I really don't mind the packing part. Except for once, we've always had the military move us so we just had to stand around and supervise. But even when we packed ourselves, it wasn't a big deal. I didn't mind at all, but it did take longer.

I love moving to new places. It's like a new beginning, even when it's only a few streets over.

I've moved 4 times. The first time was exciting because I was finally moving away from home (and with Josh nonetheless!). The second time was a bitch because we moved to a third floor and much smaller apartment. The third time was also a pain because we moved to a two story and it was difficult to get things up the stairs since they were shaped weird. This last time was the worst. I went through EVERYTHING we owned and threw away/donated more than half of it. The actual transporting of our stuff was done by family, cause ya know, I had to take care of the baby haha
