And I actually haven't read the book of Coraline, but I have read most of Neil Gaiman's stuff and I thought the movie was very good and quite dark/scary! (a kid behind me was crying during at least one part). A couple of my friends that had read the book really enjoyed the movie too. And the 3D animation is so cool.
