My husband generally doesn't like chicken, because his mom made it a lot when he was growing up. I'm not sure what her mode of preparation was, but I'm inclined to believe it wasn't conducive to taste and tenderness. (Probably some sort of diet recipe.) He complains every time I say I'm going to make chicken, but then he ends up LOVING the results. I'm glad you've found a recipe you really like - it's so helpful to have a variety of tasty things in your repertoire :-D
I made my first and possibly ONLY roast chicken a few months ago (I'm vegetarian and Matt's squeamish about meat that has been cooked on the bone). It's surprisingly stressful!
I HATE it when you come across American recipes that call for "1 bag of Y-item" and you want to throttle the author and say "how many grams/mls is in one bag? What IS Y-item? Can i substitute?" or they take an almost-complete item and just get you to add one thing to it and call it cooking (crescent rolls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) like... if i slice open a scone and butter it, i didn't just make scones!!
