Fascination; Alphabeat
Teenage in the pace age
That's when love burns
Now it's your turn

Fascination, fascination
It's just the way we feel
Fascination, fascination
It's just the way we feel

Take It Off; Ke$ha
There's a place downtown,
Where the freaks all come around.
It's a hole in the wall, it's a dirty free for all
And they turn me on, when they take it off
When they take it off, everybody take it off

There's a place I know, if you're looking for a show
Where they go hardcore,
And there's glitter on the floor
And they turn me on, when they take it off
When they take it off, everybody take it off
Lose Control; Missy Elliott
Music make you lose control,
Music make you lose control

Warrior's Dance; The Prodigy
Come with me to the dance floor,
You and me cause that's what it's for

For Your Entertainment; Adam Lambert
Oh, I bet you thought I was soft and sweet
You thought an angel swept you off your feet
But I'm about to turn up the heat
I'm here for your entertainment

It's all right, you'll be fine, baby I'm in control
Take the pain, take the pleasure
I'm the master of both

Around The Bend; The Asteroids Galaxy Tour
Give me that thing, give in my friend,
Give me good good times around the bend
I'll stay forever
Give me that thing, give in my friend
Give me hot hot love around the bend
I'll stay forever with you
Alors On Danse; Stromae
Alors on chante
Et puis seulement quand c'est fini, alors on danse.
Alors on danse
Et ben y en a encore
Oscillate Wildly; The Smiths
(instrumental)
Heartbreak Make Me A Dancer; Sophie Ellis Bexter
Heartbreak, make me a dancer, dancer
DJ, give me the answer, answer
Love, stop getting me down, down, down

Heartbreak, make me a dancer, dancer
Keep my heart beating faster, faster
Love, stop bringing me down, down, down
My Song 11; Meghan Tonjes
(mash-up)

Use Somebody (cover); Paramore
You know that I could use somebody
You know that I could use somebody

Someone like you and all you know and how you speak
Countless lovers under cover of the street
You know that I could use somebody
You know that I could use somebody
Someone like you
Hi; Psapp
You're cumpulsive
And every page I turn, I want more
I never know the next thing in store
You excite me like a locked door does

Like a limpet
I wanna take your voice and drink it
There doesn't seem to be a limit
To all the things that I could do

Whatever You Like; Anya Marina
Baby you can have whatever you like
I said you can have whatever you like
Yeah
Late night sex so wet and so tight
I'll gas up the jet for you tonight

Break It Out; The Rocket Summer
I say it's no secret
So don't you keep it

Come on and get on the floor
And just break it out
Get it all out
And start breakin' out
Just so we can make it out
Get off your feet and make this count

Oh friends please excuse me
I'll put it loosely
Oh I'm sick and tired of sitting down
I can't help but see the reasons
To what I'm reading
Very Loud; Shout Out Louds
I wanna smell
Smell the way you do
And to wear those clothes
The clothes your friends do

Take Me Anywhere; Tegan & Sara
Bright just like the stars above me
Proud just like my mother planned it
Short on all the things I don't want
I'm full of love and longing
Take me by the hand and tell me
You would take me anywhere
You would take me anywhere
We R Who We R; Ke$ha
I've got that glitter on my eyes
Stockings ripped all up the side
Looking sick and sexy-fied
So let's go

Tonight we're going hard
Just like the world is ours
We're tearing it apart
You know we're superstars
We are who we are

We're dancing like we're dumb
Our bodies go numb
We'll be forever young
You know we're superstars
We are who we are

So again, no theme here. No episodes mentioned or pairings.
It's just a character study with music.
It's kind of split into two parts. They're not equal and they're not defined and they'll blend into the same fanmix if you let them. But there's the idea that there's Brittany, and there's Brittany S. Pierce. The one who sings and makes out and smiles. And the one who asks Santana to sing with her even though she knows deep down she won't want to. The one who would put everything out there because she doesn't care and she believes others wouldn't.

And I guess this time I wanted to focus on the joy of being Brittany. I think most people write/interpret Brittany as just incredibly stupid, but I like to think there's more-- I like to go on the lines of her just being incredibly naive. That kind of wonderful, childlike sense of everything. Where the world is fascinating and lovely because why wouldn't it be? Why wouldn't the world be perfect until it isn't? I like how Brittany accepts everyone because she doesn't really see why you shouldn't. Like with Becky, she doesn't see a stigma, doesn't see a disability, doesn't see a reason why she shouldn't be her friend. She's incredibly generous and compassionate. And her definition of how to be noticed, accepted, wanted is all wrapped up in this sense of sex and love and how the two are the same and not simultaneously. She makes out with everyone; no gender is not the issue here, neither disability, not even sexuality, looks doesn't really factor into it. She has no preference nor inclination beyond: "Do you want to make out with me?" Do you want me to love you? Or be loved by you? Or share a bed. Or anything. I think Brittany expects things out of everyone: she expects what she gives, and she gives a certain level of love. No, not an all-consuming, epic kind of love. But she wants to love. She wants to be in a pair. So she kisses everyone. So she (probably) sleeps with everyone. So she dances for everyone. She shares and shares and shares. Gives and gives and gives.

So there's obviously a very strong theme of dance; because she is defined by that. I kind of like to compare her to Rachel in the sense that: Rachel knows she can sing, knows she can act, knows she'll be a star. Brittany knows she can dance, knows she's pretty special in her own right. She's confident and silly and sexy when she dances. She is giving. Constantly. Sweating and aching and stretching. Pushing and pushing. She has nothing else, she's not smart, she's not inventive, she won't be the best singer, but she'll lay it all out. So there's these moments of sweaty, vibrant songs, of softer, hopeful songs, of realistic and gorgeous and always optimistic. Always wishing.
