Well, this Hufflepuff thinks you're a Slytherin. You seem really well-rounded and realistic, which I think are very H_E snakey things, and your greatest regret seems to be that you didn't achieve your childhood ambition (btw I think it is NEVER too late to set out for your dreams, and you're still young!), which shows that ambition means a whole lot to you. You might not perfectly fit the Sorting Hat's idea of a snake, but I bet you'd feel pretty at home in the dungeons here!

I'm thinking Hufflepuff, in spite of the fact that you say you dislike hard work. Too many of your other answers show strongly Hufflepuff sensibilities, and a Hufflepuff kind of world view. One thing that stuck out to me is your willingness to take responsibility for the fact that you didn't work hard enough to follow the path you wanted. That's the kind of admission I'd expect from a Hufflepuff, instead of making excuses or telling yourself that you never wanted it to begin with.
I also see some tinges of Slytherin and Ravenclaw, and I'm pretty sure that you will fit well wherever you end up, given your adaptability. But I'm selfishly going with my instincts and claiming you for the badger den (and cupcakes).
Well - I wish this Gryffindor could be the tie-breaker, but I can't. I'm just going to add to the confusion and call you a Gryffindor. Maybe I'm rusty, but I got a very passionate/protector vibe from a lot of your answers and explanations. Even your answer about chivalry. IMO I don't think Gryffindors are chivalrous by the definition put forth - I think Gryffs do whatever the hell they want to do (for the most part), and sometimes the outcome falls in line with what other people want as well. But again, that's just my opinion.
Hufflepuff here, so tempted to mess with your head by putting you in Ravenclaw, but I shan't. I'm actually with Cat on this one; you do strike me as being very like some of the H_E Slytherins I know.
I like this application and have a feeling that you'd do well just about anywhere, but at the moment you sound too much like Narcissa Malfoy for me to say anything other than Slytherin. (I'll come back to this, of course, and see what my housemates think as well...)
