Started out Man, but thinking more Hobbit, for all the Elf love. And your adjectives, as the only man-like quality I saw there was "long-winded".

I love some of your choices of books,I adore the Tamora Pierce quartets as well. Especially Song of the Lioness.

I started out thinking Hobbit, but later comments actually make me think Elf more than anything. More than anything, I think it's that you seem to have a very long-term viewpoint... something more common in Elves, with their longer lifespan.

I would vote "Ent" if that were an option, actually :)
But of the four races that are, I have to go with Elf.

Deeeeeeeeeeefinitely a hobbit to me. I can understand why Isildur comes across as a bit of an idiot, but he did have his reasons. I recommend Weregild by Kielle.
