[Cassie, without a mask, dressed similarly to this, stands near the wall, looking for someone, anyone she knows, or wants to get to know. She's holding a cup of... something. She's not entirely sure what because the color is weird, and she hasn't tried it yet. She continues to bob her head to the music mindlessly. Someone bother her.]

[Does 'enthusiastically hug' count as a 'bothering'? Because that's what Rapunzel is doing.]

Cassie, you look so pretty!

[Yes! She looks surprised, but then tightly hugs back.] Rapunzel! It's so stunning, really. Wow, it's the dress, from your art! Wow...

[She tilts her head] What is it?

Thank you! [And then a giggle.]

I'm not really sure! A princess, I think, but... It's just what I drew.

[Cierra, sans mask, is near the front of the hall where the candles would usually be levitating Jack 'o Lanterns up to provide some light. Some of these are her own creation, others are extra credit projects done by the students.]

[She's offered to let the students levitate their own pumpkins as a sort of final test in their spell casting.]

[Kid had managed to finish 4 Jack 'o Lanterns in the time allotted. It was mildly disappointing that he couldn't finish 8, but at least 4 was half of eight and an even number! He could have done more, but if he started another, he might have ended up with 5 and that wasn't acceptable.

The jack 'o lanterns had quite the terrifying design on them, which was part of the reason he struggled to finish. Each of the four pumpkins glowed with a sinister and flickering:

7

They were quite a sight to see, rising up into the Great Hall.]

[Three years teaching this guy and he still surprises her.]

That's, ah...a rather creative design, Kiddo. I think you deserve a full eight points on this.

[That is a PERFECT number of points to get!]

Thank you, Professor~! I found it rather apt for Halloween.

Kelly was standing outside of the great hall alone. She was dressed in a Lady Gaga inspired costume of the Bubble variety, altered to be considerably less revealing than the actual Gaga counterpart. She also had long blonde extensions in her hair, with even more tied into a bow on the top of her head.

She was currently waiting for Melvin; the two had agreed to meet outside and go in together.

To be honest, she wasn't entirely in the best of moods. For one shining moment, she'd thought someone had actually- no! She pushed those thoughts out of her head quickly and with frustration. She'd already thought about it too much, and damn it she wasn't going to let that ruin her night. She was dressed as Lady Gaga, she felt fucking fierce.

This was going to be a very... Interesting night. Melvin didn't want to date Kelly Sullivan. She was respectable, for calling him out when he was being a jerk, even if she didn't get it. The truth was... Sometimes even Melvin wasn't sure he 'got it'. Regardless.

He was there with a date he wasn't romantically interested in, and a certain Gryffindor lady most definitely mad at him.

At least he looked amazing. He was wearing a black bodysuit with a large blue lightning bolt across the front, leather gloves and boots, and a cape with a very impressive collar, all pulled together with an excellent, if he did say so himself, mask.

He... Wasn't sure what he was dressed as, exactly. Just that it was fantastic.

"Ah, Kelly!" it was said with a dramatic flick of the collar. And then he paused, a hint of a smile playing at his lips. "You have a nice costume," he said, softly, but not so softly he couldn't be heard.

Kelly turned around at Melvin's voice, and she froze. What the hell was that thing. He looked like a huge supervillainous nerd or something. Or maybe she was just bitter and being overly judgmental. Either way, she didn't particularly care for her motivations at the moment.

"Uh. Thanks," she said, her tone probably giving away the fact she couldn't exactly return his compliment. "Yours is. Well it's... definitely a costume."

A shitty one, was something which hung in the air yet was left unsaid.

"...Right," Melvin snapped, his smile disappearing. Why had he bothered complimenting her anyway? She was just... Another part of the game, a way to make Miss Ritchi jealous. It wasn't like he wanted her friendship, or anything stupid like that.

"Should we go in?"

Originally, Fife had constructed a rather impressive, he supposed, costume in a surprising bought of creativity. He'd been a... Well, a fife. As in the flute.

But when he'd accidentally ruined the costume while working on a project, he'd been forced to improvise, and was now wearing a burlap sack over his body with two eyeholes cut out.

Now he just needed to find Rose, who he'd managed to save from being bought by who-knew-who.

Naveen's date was a shy, brunette girl in his year who he was... Fairly certain was Hufflepuff. Maybe a Ravenclaw? Hopefully not a Sytherin.

Regardless, she'd wandered off with some friends a while ago, leaving Naveen free to dance.

[Blimey, Naveen looked full of regalosity in his lion costume. DESPITE THE FACT THAT SHE WAS THE MOST FAB OLIVE AT THE BALL she felt a bit like a fool when she saw boys that she knew, so she just sort of glances at him from afar.]

[Luckily -- Unluckily? -- for Georgia, Naveen is the type to notice when eyes are on him. Attention plus someone he is fond of -- Because really, she's a lot more fun than he'd think a Slytherin would be -- means he is headed over there.

And laughing at her costume, not her, because that's pretty brilliant.]

Ah! Georgia, I love your costume! It is wonderful!

[She was startled, but IF HER HEAD WASN'T ALREADY DYED BRIGHT RED, she would be blushing. Naveen was the absolute nicest even though her costume was not cute or pretty in anyway.]

Thanks. And you are quite literally King of the Jungle today.
