Since House had gotten it, shortly after Jack had received the rifles, his favorite place to be was on the bed. Padfoot was there, too, his head resting on Jack's stomach while he read aloud. The dog certainly counted as an audience.
"He will enjoy the sound of your voice and will be able to distinguish it from that of a stranger. Spend quality time talking to him one-on-one. Maintain eye contact whenever possible. He'll find this entertaining and will know you're speaking just..." he paused and looked up. "Come in!"
"How to Win Friends and Influence People?" the Doctor asked with a bit of an amused grin. He headed over and patted the dog on the head (Sirius' dog, maybe, but Jack and House's dog now, so he'd cope).
The Doctor plopped down on the bed, one brow lifted slightly, and set the thermos of coffee and two mugs down on a nearby table. He took a banana. "You think the dog might get something out of it?"
