That's fine! So long as the given image is still the main focus of the icon (and not shoved over to a small corner of the icon with another image overlapping it), there should be no problem with using another image with it.

Sorry for getting back to you so late!

If the icons are made (even if they're of other characters) using an identical style, then you should abstain from posting them until the contest is over.
