(no subject)
Okay, so Aly helped me spawn this idea, and the more I think about it the more I like it. In lieu of showing up a Hanami and coming up with something new and big for the Brigade, the SOS-Brigade is going to open or at least build and host (at least for a night or two, but we're talking thinking big here) a CASINO. Now, obviously, this will be a large-ish undertaking the and AU event is around the corner with the new feathers coming in shortly thereafter, so this plan is shooting for the Casino being functional by about mid-May, I think. Because there is quite a bit to consider.
FIRST. We need to collect or construct several slot machines and at least one or two pachinko machines. Athena has informed me that given the directive now, Leon could finish four slot machines by mid-May, so that's covered - but Pachinko machines are a bit more complex, so that might be a "we need to ask Bil" thing unless someone else has a good idea who could manage it with Luceti technology. So there's that.
SECOND. Where it's taking place: ideally, I want to steal House 37 and convert it into a casino joint. The Barracks or the Rec Center are both viable, but I'd like for the Brigade to keep this relatively under wraps until the big unveiling, so a place which isn't technically public would be ideal. Sure, some people will will become aware of it and it's a bit of an assy thing to jack the house so near the new feather cycle, but if mods (two of which are here with us) okay it, that's where it'll be! Failing that we can jack the Rec Center, or set this up in part of the barracks just as easily.
Now, House 37 has this style interior. If we knock out a few walls and maybe set up one or two things like a bar inside there... maybe a small expansion, I think tit's totally doable. There's plenty of interior decorating to be done, but we've got a lot of people to do the work.
EDIT: MOD CALL: we can jack House 37, but Haruhi needs to force someone(s) to move in there. Any takers?
THIRD. Cards, dice, and a big wheel. This is easier - just regular shop raids should get it the number of decks of cards we'll need, but we'll need a lot. Same for dice. The wheel is a bit more complicated but it's basic technology: what I would like to do is have a big Wheel of Fortune type wheel (from the show of the same name, or the Price is Right- you know one of this big wheel things) for some sort of special bonus game thing.
FOURTH. Tokens and/or poker chips. We'll need to find or request a ton of those too.
Obviously, there is also a question of outfits and roles people will play once we get closer to the opening night... or what becomes of it after opening night. Both of which can be worried about by me/worried about later. Right now I'm mostly looking for everyone's input on this idea and any suggestions for it that you think are worth bringing up. Or things you think your characters can do... etc. I'll be throwing up an IC post with Haruhi announcing her ambitions soon enough.
