Ooh, this is so very pretty! Also? Love, love Escher, he's one of my fav. artists. I think you did pretty damn well. Eschers art looks pretty simple sometimes, but it's far, far from simple. :)

Awww, thank you, lovely! I'm so glad you like it! I've always been a big fan of Escher myself but I never got what he actually did before I tried to walk in his shoes. And by the time I finally figured out all the rules and how to follow them in the right technical ways in GIMP, I had already started that line art 18 times over. No kidding. By then I just didn't have the heart to start all over from scratch, again, which is why parts of that illustration look very un-Escher like. But I think the result works in its own quirky way so everything's good :).

I also didn't even realize until we were posting, but I feel like the illustrations came just at the right points in the story, for maximum effect--the Escher one especially, which I know you killed yourself over, but the wolf and the nest as well. It just. It's just amazing. <3
