Right now there are dangerous monsters in there. Right after you're born is a bad time to have to figure out if you can fight. And [pause as she flips back to Locket's report] you turn into an animal when you get there.

Yes, the Tree is really big. There are smaller, well, normal-sized trees in the City Without Walls, though.

Oh--you did get a map, right, when you were born? The City Without Walls is the second level of Edensphere. Basically it's a lot of islands floating among clouds--and yes, that's it. You'll see. It's where most of us have our workplaces, and there are a few really big islands where there's forest, too.
