The Currency is Current, See?

One thing I always wanted to be since I was a kid was someone with a specific talent. An artist, of sorts. The whole toy soldier thing was my attempt to flesh out fantasies of heroism and an attempt at securing order in my life ( Read more... )

I don't think that talent is a get out of jail free card in any respect. Even if you have talent, then you're up against a multitude of people that have talent as well. The fact that being an "artist," whether it boils down to acting, music, or drawing talents, still means that you have a hell of a road ahead of you until you get noticed.

I feel like it's easier to find a career in the business world than the talent world, personally.

Hey, I'm going for my bachelor's and have no idea if I'm going to stick with it or branch back out to nursing for my major once I get these two years over with. It's a constant back and forth struggle for me, maybe it's because I don't ever want to give up on learning new things/trades.

I'd pretty have to agree.

And I'm in the same boat as far my degree. I do love what I'm doing, but a part of me doesn't want to stop after this, I wanna keep learning new things, and I'd really like to focus on languages/culture, but I'm not sure what I'd do with that degree either.

I'm pretty sure it's normal, at least it seems to be, for the majority of us at this age to just be floating around, figuring out the next step.

When I refer to talent in this post, I meant talent that is easily noticed. Not talent that blends into the crowd.

Lol that does sound non-Ryan. Anyway, you know me. I dated Lauren Harrison. Her whole family were bible-thumpers. I've read several types of bibles, and I even read Genesis through Numbers (skimped on Numbers) in a classic King James Bible. The standard of Christianity isn't for me. I've done enough research to feel like there's too many contradictions for a life guide.

I won't insult anyone's faith, however. That's just my opinion.
