Kidnapped by depressed, morbidly inclined aliens!

Sorry to read Marti's friend got diagnosed with cancer :( Good friend of mine - she's like a big sister to me - got diagnosed with malignant neoplasm :( Not sure if she's going to do the oral chemo or not. 2012 just may really suck :(

What fraction of Korpiklaani's songs are about alcohol and alcoholics? The "related links" youtube offered up were ... boozy.

Best of luck with the new black cat.

"Awkward" seems so inadequate a word for the social turmoil of expecting to die soon.

heh, yeah... a lot of Korpiklaani's songs are indeed about alcohol and related subjects. Those songs tend to be simple and fast, very good for concerts and getting a crowd all revved up and dancing/moshing. I would say about 1/3 of their sings are about that subject. But, they also have a fair number of songs like This One

which are about things like environmental issues and spiritual questing and such. they tend to be slower, and a bit on the thoughtful side, so while they include them on all their albums, they don't play many of them in concert, which is indeed a pity I think.

That's very different stuff, indeed. I can see where dropping a song like that in the middle of a high-energy concert might not go over so well with the crowd. Might they ever do a lower-key concert and include more of those?
