My media filled life

Well, due to all the time I have to myself, I've been watching a lot of movies, TV episodes, and anime.

  • I finally finished Claymore and thought the ending was lacking. Like, it just stopped. I suppose that's because the manga is still going.

  • Gundam 00 is shiny as ever and I still don't know who's fighting on what side and what the point of it all is. BUT, I keep watching because it's difficult for me to give up on something half-way through. Well, I gave up on Tsubasa Chronicles because that was just going NO WHERE and I didn't feel like a) downloading more episodes and b) buying more manga.

  • I'm keeping up with Dexter although I'm not sure how I feel about Rita and by that I mean why is she still here?! I didn't mind her the first season, the second season was kind of OK and now I'm just annoyed with the gimmick. Ick.

  • I've been into romantic comedies lately and on a recent trip to Target, I spied a Hugh Grant collection of 4 movies for $9 total. I've only seen one previous to purchase and it said they were all supposed to be romantic comedies so I thought, score! Music & Lyrics = romantic comedy. Two Weeks Notice = romantic comedy. Mickey Blue Eyes = romantic comedy. An Awfully Big Adventure =/= romantic comedy. At all. Not even close. It's about a 16-year-old girl in post-WWII London who becomes a student of a theatre company. Hugh Grant's character is gay and terrorizes young boys' feelings. Alan Rickman is an actor who lost his wife and baby during the raids and has been looking for them ever since. So...he decides to seduce the young girl and she's toooootally not into it at all. Then at the conclusion of the movie, Alan Rickman's character realizes that the girl is his DAUGHTER and then he commits suicide. ... WTF?! I sat through this uncomfortable movie with a confused look on my face the ENTIRE time.

  • On to other movies. I watched both Bridget Jones movies and save for Renee Zellweger's accent, they were cute. Hugh Grant's character is an ass but that's fine since I don't find him attractive in the first place. I'm more of a Colin Firth kind of girl :)

  • I've been working my way through the Dirty Harry series. I watched Dirty Harry and then Magnum Force 2 down and 3 to go. I'm glad I'm catching up on the "classics" XD

  • In the book field, I finished "Lirael" and am 2/5ths of the way through "Abhorsen". I'm hoping I can finish "Abhorsen" so I can buy a Bill Bryson book for the plane ride :D He always keeps me entertained.

  • In the video game field, I've only been playing Pokemon since they shipped my PS2. I've already beaten the game so now I'm on a berry growing spree and I'm trying to level up my Eeveelutions. Why? Who cares!

So...that's been my life. In out-of-the-house goings on, I've been to Target more than I need to and bought a hair drier, a shirt, Tim Tams, and the Hugh Grant collection. I'm going to really miss Target. Heck, I'm going to miss trying on clothes that have a chance of fitting me! The camera battery I ordered for my SD450 should have arrived at the post office today so I'm looking forward to that. It's snowing here and the temperatures have plunged compared to what they were last week. AND it's snowing. Go figure I ship my boots and it starts to snow. Ugh.
