I'm cold and there's never any music on my mother's computer :(

  • I finished all the Dirty Harry movies and I've started watching the 3 The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly movies. I know it's not really a trilogy but I'm going to put them there. It took me a while to realize that the movie was dubbed except for the main characters. Drove me NUTS until I figured it out!

  • I've started listening to Christmas/Holiday music more proactively. I picked up a Harry Connick Jr. holiday CD so that's keeping me entertained.

  • I finished reading "Abhorsen". The thing that bugged me the most (besides the awful pacing of the last 2) was that it all gets summed up REALLY fast in the last few pages...and then there's no real epilogue. *annoyed* Anyway, I made Kevin read a few of my mountain climbing books (even though he couldn't make it through one of them) and so he made me read a few of his sci-fi books. Now it's my turn again. I've got quite a few Bill Bryson books that I think he'd like and unfortunately the person who borrowed my "In a Sunburned Country" still hasn't given it back. I guess I'll have to re-buy it.

  • I've got a slew of movies lined up to watch and most of them are from Entertainment Weekly's Top 50 Sexiest Movies. I didn't know a few of them were supposed to be sexy. Could have fooled me O_o. I got done watching Mr. Bean's Holiday which was just a Mr. Bean show that lasted an hour and a half. Then I watched The Breakfast Club again just because.

  • The only thing that's keeping me interested in Grey's Anatomy is the addition of Kevin McKidd's character, Dr. Owen Hunt. Gawd I love that character! Dexter's most recent episode made me angry. I want to punch Rita. Whitney, I have all of this season's episodes EXCEPT the first one(I don't know wtf happened there) if you want me to burn them for you. Heroes is...touch-and-go for me. It's really difficult for me to completely ditch a series so I'll probably be sticking with it for the duration.

As far as my week goes, it could have been better. Wednesday night I went to Auburn to watch the first James Bond movie with Carole and Hilary. We ate pizza and drank wine and laughed and joyously observed Daniel Craig. Well, on the way home, a band of lake effect closed in and didn't move off of a good chunk of Rt. 20 (the road I was driving home on). I couldn't go more than 15mph because a)there were a lot of white-out instances, b) my tires would not grip and c) my car just plain couldn't handle it. So I pulled off to the side of the road and called my mother for advice. She recommended that I stay at the Sherwood Inn in Skaneateles. This would be all fine and dandy if it wasn't the most expensive Inn in the area. So my mom lent me the money and I checked in for the night. The ended up upgrading me to a suite because either they felt sorry for me (I had obviously been sobbing in their lobby before I booked the room) or because they just could. The room was beautiful and I had a nice hot bath before curling up and watching some TLC show about hairy children before bed. The only thing wrong with this new room was that since it was facing the road, I could hear plows and tractor trailers until 5am when I finally got to bed. The next day I had breakfast while overhearing some men (obviously rich Skaneateles folk) talking about shipping things from S. Korea and Dubai on private jets. Pfsh.

Now comes Friday when I'm supposed to work at the Gift Shop. I'd been hearing all morning about how there's going to be some big storm rolling in the entire weekend and we could get upwards of 20". I ended up leaving my dad's house just as it started getting bad and subsequently freaked out the entire time I was driving in. Traffic was pretty much at a stand-still by the time I got on the highway. Once I get into work, I'm frazzled as all hell and I notice they're about to put up a sign that says "Gift Shop Closed Due To Weather". ........... Wtf? Did anyone even BOTHER to think about calling and telling me this? Had they done so, I wouldn't have even left the house. But, since I was there I decided to stay and work until a half hour before normal closing time. My mother had offered to pick me up and bring me to dad's because she knew how bad the roads were and how freaked out I was about driving.

The next day, Saturday, I was supposed to have a goodbye zoo trip & dinner night. Well, only 2 people could make it besides myself (and I love both of them dearly for even saying yes) and I didn't want them to try to make it through this storm just for me. So I canceled. I was a little heartbroken because I just couldn't seem to catch a fucking break this past week and this just was icing on the cake. Saturday turned out to be ok because I went with my father to see my grandparents on the Syracuse Farmer's Market, got my car, watched an SU football game (they won! wtf?) and then went out to Ichiban anyway with him and Sue.

So...Kevin's in Japan and I Skyped with him a little bit on Saturday too. I even brought my laptop downstairs so I could show my dad and Sue how it worked. They were really impressed and I told them they should get a webcam so that we could talk while I'm in Japan :D Tonight (his Monday morning/afternoon) he's going to physically GO to the office where my paperwork is hung up. I have very little hope that I'm going to be leaving this Friday but miracles do happen.
