I don't think it's weird, but then I HATE when anyone asks me stuff like, "Where do you see yourself in five years?" Well, how the hell should I know? Five years ago, I didn't see myself where I am now. I mean, I have a stock answer for interviews and the like, but it's never a totally honest answer.
There's something about it that strikes me as an overly-personal question, like they're demanding you tell them all your life's dreams and it irritates me immensely.
It's not weird at all. I agree with EL that it's a very personal question. Of course, my stock answer to that annoying "What are you going to do now?"(which everyone and their mother asked me until I got my job here) was "Lie on a beach in Spain and mooch off of my friends and family." So I'm not really any help either way.
