14 days paid account trial? Okay

In more exciting news- I am shattered, flist. Did I tell you about the volunteering with the Youth theatre group- currently standing at 19 actors aged between 13 and 17, plus Sian (group leader, director, producer, and generally the person who is actually paid to be responsible for all this stuff) and another ( Read more... )

Out for nine hours, and then writing a gloriously funny long and detailed post about it all? Your a better woman than I am.

You have a job, silly!

I've realised the reason that, when I first came to LJ, I fancied a paid account, was because I liked the look of all the icons. But a) since then I decided harvesting icons from everywhere was a lot of work and b) if I've only got this for two weeks I really can't be bothered.

Er, I don't know. A photographer was snapping away at the rehearsal last night, but I don't know where her pics will eventually be posted. I'll tell you when I find out. (I don't think I'd be allowed to go in and start taking my own, except possibly of the craft sessions.)

Haaa, it's always disposable cups for pig noses, isn't it? It's just such an obvious choice, although I quite agree with your young cast - not very comfortable.

It sounds like a fun use of your time! And thinking of the actors' comfort in giving thought to how make costumes probably makes them appreciate your consideration. :)

...oh I'm still signed in as Nanny.

Not entirely inappropriate, I suppose.

Actually, the director was going to use the bottom of egg boxes for pig noses, but I vetoed that- they weren't big enough. I'm not sure that she's made the cup-noses big enough, for that matter. Certainly, not very ergonomic.

I do like doing this with my time! It's actually great to have all sorts of unexpected tasks just thrown at you, at least when you find yourself going: 'well, I never knew that I could be good at this...' I've discovered that I can adapt to things I haven't done before and I do have design ideas, and I'm not bad at making them actually happen. (I hate to go around talking about my own confidence levels, but given that a) I don't have a job and b) that most of the jobs I've had have not exactly brought this out... then, yeah.)
