Okay, so, overdue. Surprised? Of course you’re not.

Thank you for my lovely birthday pictures and videos! And to others on other media who… etc..

So, birthday. I had an opera birthday, yes I did! I went to English Touring Opera, twice! They were in Buxton for the 20th and 21st.

Oh, you girls were gorgeous! That's one of my favorite colors and it looks fantastic on you.

I'm not familiar with either opera but I can imagine that the addition of a Cirque de Soliel vibe would certain jazz things up. Not to mention airplanes. Holy moly.

I think I've posted a picture of that dress before (well, I know I have), on its hanger; I've since adjusted it by sewing a contrasting panel in the front 'v' (the neckline was low enough that on me it was borderline rude- or at least my mum kept telling me it didn't fit and eventually agreed that that was why).

I didn't actually think of Cirque de Soliei but I suppose you could be right- I don't know if I've seen enough to judge that. It did have the sort of chaotic aspect, with the singers taking the place of the clowns. I did sit through the opening act with my hands clenched like a kid at the circus, come to think of it!

Sadly it wasn't a whole plane- the bit you see is all that appeared onstage- still less an animatronic one (that would have been fun!) but it was probably still livelier than sticking rigidly to the book, I expect. Anyway, the directing of the actors (if it was all the director's work and with opera I suppose you can usually assume it is) was very fun.
