Hello, I've never interacted with Soujirou, nor do I post very often at all (preferring more of a comment-ninjaing style of RPing, myself). But I just thought, if you don't mind, that I'd throw in my own two cents in.
I don't think anyone feels bothered by threads, not ever. It's fun to see what sort of off-the-wall interactions you can end up with. And yes, I know it can be intimidating-- I've been playing Rin since March, and had another character previously, and still feel nervous whenever commenting. But sometimes, the nerves and insecurity need to be swallowed if you want to get to the part that's fun, you know?
As for feeling funny, heh, well. I think that in truth, everyone feels that everyone is funny but themselves. It's hard to see the good side of one's own abilities, and all too easy to pick out the bad sides. In the end, I think that the important part is to not try worrying too much as coming off funny- the best moments often show themselves when you're not trying to be funny, but when they happen organically

Ah, thank you for your advice. ♥ You didn't come off as preachy at all.
I also had a character previously (over a year ago), and ended up dropping her after an extended absence. That probably contributes to my nervousness, since I already failed once and am worried that the same thing will happen again.
Hey, if you want someone for him to be psycho and disturbing and to talk torture with, have him comment to Itachi sometime. Though it might take awhile for the subject of torture to come up, even between sociopaths or whatever, but still! It would be fun to have them interact. :Db

Thank you so much for your advice. And yes, Itachi and Soujirou need to have a conversation about disturbing, twisted tendencies at some point XD
Mm. Yes, the difficulty with Soujirou lies in removing him from an environment where he has little interaction outside of business affairs to one where he's actually conversing with people with probably no ulterior motives. He's friendly with others, but that's more of a habit than an attempt at building actual relationships. But you're probably right...as soon as he gets some solid relationships established, it will be much easier 8D; First step! Must work on being more active around all my doctor's appointments.
I don't know your canon very well or Soujirou at all (outside of camp), but both as just a CFUD player in general and specifically as someone playing an unfriendly character who is basically married to a cause that doesn't exist at all inside of camp, I'd just like to offer, for whatever they're worth, my reassurances that you haven't been annoying and my encouragement to hang in there.
I don't know how familiar you are with Les Misérables Enjolras, but reading how you feel about playing Soujirou reminded me a lot about some of the challenges I've had playing Enjolras. One of the things that I've found Enjolras just requires is throwing him into random posts, even if I think he'll be boring and unfunny. And most of the time, he is -- that's just what happens to the straight man a lot, especially in a crack RP like this. But if I don't throw him in somewhere, he'll never have the chance to hit those particular characters or threads that just take off wonderfully and are a lot of fun for all involved

Or revolutionaries for the complete-and-utter-defeat-but-hey-we-leave-pretty-corpses. 8D
...I mean.
But, yes. I think it would be great for the both of them. I've been mostly comment ninja-ing lately because of time constraints, but hopefully RL should be easing up soon and I'll have time to actually post or something.
... I had a really long reply and then LJ ate the comment. Uh.
The general gist of it Itachi and Rin have both given also, so I'll just say that you should feel free to thread with Kodachi any time. She's totally got a sadistic streak (that I barely even play, too, partially because I'm always kind of nervous about bringing it out, so I'd love to have someone to chat with and explore that aspect of her character) and she likely won't really blink at anything Soujiro could bring up other than to comment on how utterly appalling actually drawing blood is.
*pats* LJ's appetite for comments is never sated, is it? Thank you so much, though ♥
It is difficult to play the sadistic streak when it tends to be such a conversation stopper with most people, let alone characters. And yes, Soujirou and Kodachi must chat more. Soujirou will argue that blood is really fine as long as it doesn't get on one's clothes, because then explanations to the police curious are just troublesome.
In my interactions with you, I think your Soujirou has done a really good job of not being all happy-friendly-squishy or anything. (I would like to throw Brock at him more if possible, because it's a different sort of relationship than the others I've made in camp *selfish whut
( ... )
Thank you for all your advice ♥ I hope I'll be a little more comfortable soon as well. And I'd love to have more Soujirou-Brock interaction~
That does sound like a good plan, and it would definitely make me less nervous if I already had an idea as to how another character might react. And I know the conversations doesn't always have to be funny, but I still feel less...I don't know compared to everyone else D:
I did plan to have Soujirou make a recruiting post at some point, if only to see the wave of dotting it will get him XD

P.S. - At some point, Soujirou and Enjolras need to have some kind of conversation about the overthrow of government 8D Revolutionaries for the win?
