Soukyuu no Fafner EXODUS ep. 1-2
I had the chance to watch the first two episodes of Soukyuu no Fafner EXODUS last Wednesday (New Year’s Eve!!!) at Cinema Sunshine Ikebukuro :D
However, since it has been 4 days, I might have a recall bias so please correct me if there’s any mistake (if you happened to have watched it, too!). Also, my Japanese is not good, especially when trying to catch "Japanized" foreign names and all. So, here I am bearing spoilers!!
1. First thing first: Toomi Maya was plain awesome. She was in the among those who pilot the fighter aircraft. She was also the only senior Fafner pilot who sortied on the battle on Tatsumiyajima. I am basically having a very bad crush on her up until now.
2. SOUSHI IS BACK IN THE SIEGFRIED SYSTEM. Which means Soushi and Maya were the only seniors participating on the battle at Tatsumiyajima.
3. The first battle between the UN-something was in Hawaii. The UN-something was losing so they sent nuclear bomb (?) to Hawaii having killed both the humans and Festums leaving only 5 survivors. One captain (someone with high authority), 3 Fafner pilots, and a girl who was protected by Festum from the explosion. The survivors then escaped to Tatsumiyajima.
4. Sakura and Kenji teach at the school. Sakura is, I believe, a P.E. teacher, and Kenji is a school doctor.
5. Akira works with Kazuki at the cafe/restaurant. He cooked for Soushi when Soushi came to the restaurant, and Soushi frankly gives him a comment which basically says his cooking is no good.
6. There was a scene where Soushi cooks. It was so funny because even when he cooks, everything has to be precise lol he even used a stopwatch to time it to the second.
7. Kanon works with her mother as a mechanic (?), she now wears pants! :D
8. Seri is now taking care of the new core in the Valkyrie.
9. The new junior, Mimika, is so strong (physically). I recall that Sakura mentioning something that she reminds her of the old Kazuki (?).
10. Sui buys manga from Rina’s store, he seems to be having a crush on her.
11. The blond pilot from UN-something, Jonathan Mitsuhiro Bertrand, seems to have family relations to Maya? Maya doesn’t seem to know him, because when he introduced himself, she was surprised to hear his family name.
12. The UN-someting pilots seemed to idolized Kazuki, especially the female pilot.
13. After the battle on the second episode, Kenji was checking everyone. Then Maya came out half naked (with an open shirt, panty(?) but no bra); I think she was half-drunk. Kenji and Soushi were so awkward lol
14. During the battle on Tatsumiyajima, the ones who sortied were the juniors only. At the beginning of the battle, Maya was still up in the sky with Mizoguchi in their jets, but then Mizoguchi’s jet was shot down but he escaped. Then she landed and contacted Soushi that she is going to sortie and cross with him.
15. Also, during the battle on Tatsumiyajima, Miwa was a little fussy because she wanted to meet Emery (Yumiko and Chizuru were staying with Miwa at home to calm Miwa down, instead of going to Alvis). They happened to have crossed with each other.
16. The old Fafners that were Kazuki and the others’ units were sealed off--the Brucke is apparently off-limit to Kazuki, even? We had a scene of him staring at Mark Sein until Canon found him and chided him that he was not supposed to be there. (Also, Canon seems to still have a bit of a crush on Kazuki).
17. You could now see the marks on pilots' fingers caused by the Nibellung rings.
I think that's it for now. Will add more later if I can remember lol. Also, why I kept saying UN-something instead of NUN, because the abbreviations were different (but why my mind kept saying it's UNHCR lol)
