[After spending a great deal of time lurking and sight-seeing, Sasuke can eventually be seen to find himself some food and a place to eat, all the while mystified by just how different everybody looks and what it is exactly he's eating. He is, at the same time, keeping an eye out for anybody he knows. Which isn't many, truth be told.

He's here dressed in his ninja garb, as always, looking less than inconspicuous as a result. Fancy clothes cost money, something he didn't have. Or maybe they didn't? Either way...]

[It was almost a last minute decision for Yukimura to attend the party; he was originally going to stick with his patrol, but Roy said replacements from Shibusen would cover any shifts as necessary. Not wanting to waste the goodwill of both Shibusen and Roy is more or less what bought his presence, and so here he is, glancing around awkwardly in his usual red clothing.

One can only imagine the look on his face when he spots Sasuke amongst the crowd; it is a strange concoction of surprise and relief, but it gives way to the tiniest of smiles as he darts towards his retainer.]

Ou! Sasuke! It is relieving to see you here! Have you also come to witness Death City's festivities?

[Sasuke looks up in surprise at the familiar flash of red speeding towards him from the edge of his peripheral vision, and he perks up immediately with an amused and equally relieved smile at his charge's appearance. Turns out he knew someone here, after all.]

Danna~. Seemed like the prudent thing to do. [His grin widens and with a subtle movement, nudges the chair across from him away from the table in an invitation to sit. Now seemed like as good a chance as any to properly catch up. Sadly, talking meant not eating for a time, and he looks mournfully at his plate before giving Yukimura a curious look.]

Having fun, I assume? [He can't really imagine the youth to ever be otherwise, but especially so in an environment such as this with all the new sights.]

[A quizzical look crosses Yukimura's features for all of one second before he takes the seat offered to him, giving Sasuke an acknowledging nod as he does so. Admittedly, the Young Tiger feels much more at ease with the ninja around. Their professional relationship aside, Sasuke is a good friend to Yukimura, and is someone he feels can truly relax whilst in the presence of. Given the nature of the party, having a familiar face around is most comforting for the young warrior.]

Yes. Given what some of the citizens have undergone, a chance to be able to collect oneself in a calming event such as this will serve their mentality well! [He really does mean that; he's glad the all of the rescued victims are safe again, but well, perhaps that doesn't exactly count as 'fun'.]

Despite that, I feel I simply cannot... [He pauses for a moment to search for the right word.] ...blend in.

[He simply nods. Sasuke is, admittedly, not quite in the know just yet regarding recent happenings in this world and Death City. He'd have to inquire, if he was to do his job properly. Taking precedence for the time being, though, is his Master's more immediate concerns.]

Aah? You shouldn't worry, Danna. [He doesn't look too concerned at all, really.] There are plenty of people who stand out here- [you're talking to the guy in ninja garb who ironically stands out like a sore thumb, Yukimura] -so of course 'blending in' is difficult. [With so many people from so many different worlds, and dress code varying quite broadly amongst so many since no standard had been established...]

[He smiles reassuringly, anyway. Guiding the Cub is just another part of his job, after all.] Besides, sometimes it's better not to blend in. [Like when you're the heir to the Takeda.]

[She was just going to spend this time to eat, recharge, and get back out into the crowd (maybe clean out a few pockets in the process), but what is this? A ninja can not be unseen by another ninja, you see. A keen eye like hers does not miss a thing!

Except for the fact that this stranger may not be looking for a nineteen-year-old girl to bother him, but when has that ever been an issue anyway?

Abandoning her plate at the table she picked, Yuffie not-so-unnoticeably strolls up to Sasuke with her hands behind her back and a big smile on her face.] Hey, aren't you supposed to be wearing a tux?

[Sasuke's eyes flicker upwards for just a blink of an eye, so to speak, when he notices a girl making a beeline towards him. Disregarding the notion - who would bother him at this party aside from the people he knows, anyway - he looks up more obviously with a measure of surprise when she even stops and smiles at him.

Smiles are reassuring! Cute smiles especially. And yet the question is confusing. Forgive his sudden lack of eloquence, Yuffie.]

...A what? [Is this one of those future things? Then again, Western culture as a whole is a complete mystery to him as well, all things considered.]

[She just stares at him for a second longer, because who around here doesn't know what a tux is?

Oh yeah. Different times, different worlds... okay, it can make sense if she tries to understand it. Shaking her head, Yuffie holds her hands up to her neck, pretending to fix an imaginary tie.]

You know, like this? Don't tell me I got all dressed up for nothing!

[Your pantomiming means nothing to him, Yuffie, and he looks a touch bewildered.] Er. [He stares blankly before his eyes slide across, looking for any hint elsewhere in the room for what she might be getting at. Well, maybe he gets the gist. He can pretend he understands, anyway. Something to do with the formal dress?]

Not for nothing. You look quite nice! [He smiles reassuringly and hopes for the best.] I didn't think that there was a dress code... [Though he does certainly appreciate that you showed up in style, lady.]

[He inclines his head politely in greeting. Manners, man!] Sarutobi Sasuke. And you are, Miss?

[That smile is not reassuring at all! She's still absolutely uncomfortable in a dress, and it shows every time she fidgets with the hem.]

I thought there was... [Cloud lied to her! Jerk, making her feel guilty and everything.]

You haven't heard of me yet? [Not like it's a shock, but in Yuffie-World everyone knows who she is!] Yuffie Kisaragi, White Rose of Wutai, Hero of Gaea, and Super Babe of Death City! [... that last one is new.] It's nice to meet you.

[He blinks only the once, to his credit, before his lips break into an easy smile. Posturing is something he is quite familiar with, fortunately, and usually it's quite deserved. He'll spare this girl the benefit of the doubt for now!]

I certainly have now. [He scratches his cheek idly.] I'm not as glorious, I'm afraid. I'm just a shinobi of the Sanada Clan, serving Kai of Hi-No-Moto, and the Takeda Army. [But he grins.] Which means nothing to you, I'm sure.

[Looking around...] Seems like you fit in better than I do, Kisaragi-san. Though... you do stand out in your own way. [Was that a subtle compliment? It may have been~ His smile certainly says so.]

[Maybe the blank look on her face gave it away, and Yuffie smiles apologetically and rubs at the back of her head. She was trying to understand, but the most she absorbed was 'Shinobi' and 'Army', the latter of which wasn't all that pleasing to the ears though she tries not to let it show.] Army, huh... [Yuffie has never been accused of being good at hiding her emotions, though.]

Of course I stand out! [The quickest way to a girls heart is through her ego!] It's hard to miss somebody like me, you know.

Hey, I haven't really seen you around before. [Hands on her hips, Yuffie leans closer with a small tilt of her head.] I bet you're new, aren't you? You'll need a guide and a friendly face to keep you out of trouble, and I'm your girl!

Haah? I do, do I? [He grins indulgently at the girl's bravado and almost considers protesting, but decides otherwise. The truth is that he probably could use a little help about certain things here and there... and anybody willing to assist was handy.]

Sure. [His grin gives way to a pleasant smile. Intended to be reassuring as well - Yuffie's displeased reaction gives him slight pause.] Don't worry, I am - was - mostly a scout and negotiator. Reconnaissance, espionage, diplomacy... you know, usual ninja things. ['Shinobi' didn't seem to be a recognized word around here anymore.]

What kind of trouble is there that I should look out for? [He thinks he knows, but he's curious nonetheless. Could use local opinion. With a deft gesture he nudges the chair next to him away from the table and invites her to sit with a tilt of his head.]

[She can easily talk the talk, but being able to own up to it is another thing entirely. Truth is, there's a better chance of her doing more damage than good...

The smile does seem to ease her though, and with the prompt she slides into the offered seat.] The trouble depends on a lot. Last time it was Witches! You have to keep a close eye on your friends, who knows when they'll go missing, and then... [A pause as she leans forward, arms crossing over the tabletop.] ...I heard there were frogs.

[... Well, maybe that wasn't such a threat. She leans back again, a thin eyebrow raising.] But you said you were a ninja, right? So you'll be fine! Especially if you associate with the Greatest Ninja Ever.

[Sasuke keeps his eyes quite attentively on Yuffie, watching and listening closely, though of course affecting a casual air. She clearly knows more about what's going on around here than he does, and truthfully, he expects a more accurate version from a local than he does from Shibusen. He zeroes in on the clearly most important thing first, however...]

Aah? You are? [He tilts his head and scratches his cheek idly, considering her. He finds it surprising at first, but then reconsiders. Kunoichi were often deceptive in appearance, usually beautiful too, and one could hardly judge them by their mere exterior.] There's legends about you too? [He still finds it extremely hard to believe that he's mentioned in folklore, so he doesn't give this much heed.]

'Witches' and frogs... [If he were western, he would find this ridiculous. Still, warnings about missing people makes him think of his master, who is also here.] Hmm... I'll watch closely. So what are Witches?

[wutaisrose]

[There's a confused glance at that, then a shrug that follows.] Yeah, sure, lots of them! [Might as well stroke her own ego while she's here bragging to the new guy, right?] You know, just silly things that people talk about, no big deal. Saving the world a couple times just gets you that kind of reputation. [No need to mention she didn't do it alone.]

Witches are- [She stops, leaning forward against the table again as she tilts her head to one side.] You didn't pay attention either, huh? That's okay! Witches are the ones we're fighting against. They're actually really strong, so it kind of makes sense that these guys need us here...

[For a second she drops her gaze to the tables surface, frowning a little to herself. She wouldn't have said they were tough before, but after fighting one... And she's still sore over it! Both emotionally and physically.] If one shows up, you have to beat her, okay?
