[Entertainment District][Around 1AM][Closed][Aerith, Yuffie, Luki, Kadaj] thishealingwind April 1 2011, 07:08:45 UTC
Everything was in chaos. A fun night out on a new holiday had turned into a literal nightmare withing the span of just a few minutes, and now Yuffie and Aerith were in the streets, attempting to help citizens flee to safety. There was little else they could do - most of the attackers were either being dealt with it seemed, though even if they were not, they both lacked proper weapons to fight with.

"This is bad," the Cetra said over her shoulder to the ninja as she ushered a mother and her young child into the cover of a nearby building.

Yuffie huffed, overly dramatic as usual, and threw the other woman a quick glance. "Bad doesn't even come close!" But yes, in its own way, she agreed wholeheartedly. This entire night, from beginning to now, was nothing less than a catastrophe and she could only expect things to get worse. There wasn't a single time the ninja could think of when things just went easy for them. Ever.

On the other hand, this was their job, wasn't it? Protect the innocent and all that, and Yuffie had no complaints in the long run.

"Where to next? I'm not sure what areas are covered..."

The pair didn't go very far before there was something else to call their attention. A scream rang out from behind them. That of the woman and the child they had only just brought to "safety". First there was the brief shriek of her young child. It was followed by the horrified crying of the woman, begging for her child, sobbing in despair. That was silenced after several of her pained screams. A long, black, thin pointed arrow carried the woman out and pinned her to the opposite wall through her midriff. A familiar figure for both Yuffie and Aerith stalked out the building. Luki's clothes were torn and pitted with dozens of holes. Blood was spattered across her face and her clothes, her hair tinged crimson. Teeth bared with bits of flesh dangling from her mouth ( ... )

"I'm not sure, let's check-"

Aerith didn't have time to finish her sentence as she turned toward the way they'd come at the sound of screaming. The brunette expected something horrifying to come walking toward them out of the darkness as the figure came into view, and while unexpected, she couldn't say that it wasn't frightening on several levels.

"Luki!" The young girl was a macabre mess, and Aerith's face crumpled into something sad and helpless. This wasn't the girl she knew; something was insanely wrong here.

As the child raced toward them, her arm distorting into something twisted, Aerith turned to Yuffie, grabbing the ninja's hands in hers, not even taking a moment to think about it. Aerith's eyes slammed shut as she burst into a bright seagreen light, transforming into her Weapon form.

Her eyes widened at the sight, at the blood, and morphed immediately into anger. It was a pointless kill, they were innocent people that didn't deserve this end, and Luki was the one that stood there as the cold blooded murderer. It was nothing short of a nightmare and Yuffie just wanted to wake up.

She didn't have much of a chance to react, though, when Aerith's hand took hers. "Aerith--" There was no time for the shock to settle, for her anger to dissipate or evolve.

Rather, Yuffie spun the staff between her fingers, body tensing and shifting to dash forward and meet the berserk Weapon part way, raising Aerith to swing at the blood-drenched girl.

Aerith's transformation into a weapon had made this somewhat easier for the girl. Now, there was only one target, where before she might have had to choose between which one she was going to rip apart. Now, the decision was made for her.

The spikes protruding out of Luki's arm retracted for the most part, only spikes jutting from her fingers remaining. Luki's mouth was open wide. She cackled with joy and amusement as she and Yuffie neared. With her mechanical arm she caught Aerith, gripping the staff tight. Her tail had risen up and was now bearing down on Yuffie with her clawed hand rising up from below.

The insanity Yuffie was witness to when Luki fought against a witch was set upon her, now.

So, I'm putting this here then? <.< thishealingwind April 4 2011, 02:44:39 UTC
This being only the second time Aerith had ever resonated with anyone, it seemed rather stable as their wavelengths began to pulse through her metal form. Yuffie spun her between her deft fingers before Luki and the ninja met head on, their attacks clashing together.

Her strange vision allowed the Cetra to see the incoming tail and claw, and Aerith found herself desperate to aid her friend. She wasn't sure she could dodge both. Shutting down her senses, the Ancient felt a power stirring within her, and she reached for it with hope.

There was a sudden burst of energy before Yuffie's body began to glow lightly, as Aerith managed to get the Planet Protector shield around her Meister before either attack got too close.

[ooc note: She won't be able to keep this up for long, but it'll greatly reduce any damage taken while she does. just fyi]

It hadn't even crossed her mind whether she could or could not wield the Cetra, although there was little reason why they wouldn't resonate together. Or maybe she simply didn't understand the inner workings of a Resonation. It hardly mattered at this point when Yuffie yelped as Luki grabbed onto the Princess Guard, part of her far too willing to release the weapon in favor of escape while the other part - more aware that it was still Aerith - helped her to tighten her grip on the staff ( ... )

Luki's light weight had worked against her more times than she would have liked. This was definitely one of those instances. With even less knowledge about what Aerith's weapon form might be capable of doing than Yuffie, Luki wasn't expecting the saving light that stopped her from running this ninja through. Caught off guard, she was flung briefly into the air before she landed a few feet away.

However, that sneer never left her face and her widened, insane eyes never flickered. Those heterochromatic, usually filled with happiness and excitement, were fixed on Yuffie with an excitement of a different kind. The kind of excitement that ached to have her torn apart, her blood smeared and splattered onto every surface.

She started to laugh again. Getting down onto all fours, she raced at Yuffie again. This time, her tail preceded her, flying straight toward Yuffie's chest.

"Mmn", came Aerith's disembodied voice. It seemed she had retained some of her Cetra abilities, and it didn't feel too different from using them back home. That was...optimistic.

Still, Luki wasn't backing off. This could be trouble. "We can't hurt her", she said, her tone worried. "This isn't like her. Something's wrong."

Suddenly, there was a sharp tail flying at Yuffie, and in the reflection of the Princess Guard, Aerith's eyes widened. "Dodge, Yuffie!"

After the initial swing, Yuffie planted both feet back on the ground. She held the staff firmly beside herself as the other hand settled on her hip, head cocked to the side as she grinned over at Luki. Somehow that felt kind of good. Her eyes flicked to the Princess Guard as she listened to Aerith, offering a small nod before focusing her gaze back on the Weapon dressed in blood.

"I know, but we can't just let her-" Dodge! Yuffie didn't need to be told again. Despite being the butt of many jokes, Yuffie never lied about being a ninja and she reflexively bent at the knee, jumping to the side to narrowly avoid the tip of the tail that dived for her chest.

Maybe the jokes held true in some sense, though, and she lost balance when she landed. One arm began pinwheeling to catch herself as she held the staff behind her in some kind of attempt to protect Aerith. Yuffie held her breath, regaining her footing as she quickly glanced up toward Luki.
