The flow of Kishin Eggs was a near constant stream, and while he was vaguely aware of the many that he and Sephiroth had destroyed, the next wave just kept coming. Some slipped by him to the teams beyond, but he made certain to step in to take on the ones that looked more lethal than the others. The trickle thankfully hadn't turned into a wave, but it was still grating on his sensations ( ... )

When there was no one in need of help, Cloud slipped off into a badly damaged building, searching for stray Kishin Eggs. There was none in this part, and he paused for a time to stretch his muscles before he held out the Masamune. 'You and I both need a little break.'

They would be close enough to return if needed, but far enough that they could take a moment to catch their breath. No doubt the ex-General was tired from taking in that form for so long.

'I guess you have a need now, don't you?' He didn't mention his own attempts as a younger person was sketchy at best. He needed the practice too.

With the latest Kishin Egg defeated, Sephiroth turned his attention to the area surrounding them. He wasn't about to let his guard down, but he could feel the strain in the back of his mind of remaining in his Weapon form for too long ( ... )

Cloud released his hold on the Masamune when Sephiroth began to transform and settled back on the ground in front of him. He took one look at the ex-General and could tell obvious exhaustion even if the silver-haired man tried to hide it. When was the last time that Sephiroth had broken any kind of sweat while fighting or looked that pale?

He wouldn't apologize for pushing them too far because it always happened in war. Instead, he leaned heavily on the wall at his back and scrubbed his face with a hand, finding a minor scrap that he must have gotten somewhere. "Take a minute to relax, would you? You're making me nervous."

He grunted at the pointed words, feeling his unsettled stomach making little tugs to add to Sephiroth's claim. "But I'm pretty close. Maybe I'll just drop from exhaustion before I vomit," he said, rubbing his stomach in a lame attempt to calm it.

His body only seemed to want to shut down in order to recover from the large amounts of energy he had lost during the battle, but he wasn't about to allow for that to happen. Sephiroth knew his body well, and if he lowered his guard any further, he feared that he'd be unable to transform again. That was something he couldn't allow.

"This is how I 'relax'," Sephiroth murmured before the grunt drew his attention to the blonde.

"Perhaps, but the battle seems far from over for now," he said while his lips quirked up into a smirk. The truth be told, he would prefer to lose the bet, since it would mean that his Meister was finally recovering, but that wouldn't stop him from taunting the blonde.

Glancing at Sephiroth again, Cloud figured that 'relaxation' had never been a skill that the ex-General had mastered much. No doubt the company kept Sephiroth busy with training, paperwork and Gaea knows what else, and in that mako crystal, Sephiroth had been active in dropping a Meteor on the planet. Yeah, relaxation was probably not in the silver-haired man's vast amount of skills.

"You look exhausted," he offered, aware that he looked much the same. "If we stay like this too long, we might not get back into the battle." Still, they needed a break anyway or it would be worse for them.

"It doesn't matter. I can hold it in," he replied, his face forming a determined look. He wasn't going to lose this bet, not when so much of his pride was on the line in the first place. "Besides, I really think you have an odd liking for me in dresses."

Sephiroth said nothing in response to Cloud's observations. He would neither confirm nor deny the statement even to himself, let alone his Meister. They had a war to win, and he would go down fighting if it came to it. Still, beasts like this would never cause his downfall, and not that of his Meister's either.

"Then we would best return to the fight," he murmured, but had every intention of waiting until Cloud was ready. As it were, the ex-General was uncertain to if he'd be able to transform without any difficulties.

"So determined to beat me, hmm?" Sephiroth taunted while sighting the determined expression on Cloud's face. It was just a pity for his Meister that he simply didn't care one way or another about the bet. "I don't remember ever ordering you to dress in women's clothing before this bet."

The silence was more than enough for him, since it meant that Sephiroth wasn't about to protest his words. It didn't matter that the ex-General refused to admit it either, since they both were well aware of one another's state of exhaustion. It was lucky that they hadn't been driven to any sort of blunder yet.

Shaking his head, he continued to lean against the wall. He wanted to sit down, but he wasn't certain if he would be able to stand again afterwards. His feet might ache, but he remained standing because he could stumble his way back to the battlefield. "Let me have a moment here. I'm enjoying our success in this round of fighting."

Shrugging his shoulders, he tried to make it seem like it wasn't a big deal even if it was to him. This was about him overcoming horrible odds and knowing that his soul had finally repaired itself. It meant he didn't have long-lasting damage and would forever be a weakness in battle. "I will win, and you may not have, but you're just mad I never got in women's clothing like you did while here."

"If that is what you wish," Sephiroth said when it seemed that Cloud wasn't going anywhere from his perch against the wall. It was something that he could accept, and while he did nothing to 'make himself comfortable', the ex-General remained rooted to where he stood. That was all he needed to begin the restoration of energy within his body, and with some lucky, he would obtain a sufficient amount to return to battle with.

"Then prove me wrong," he said with a smirk. The expression was enough to show that Sephiroth didn't believe that Cloud to do it, even if the ex-General wanted the exact opposite to happen within. "No, you just got into it without intoxication while in Gaea's version of the Red Light District."

He doubted that Sephiroth would put any pressure on him to fight just yet, and he took the small seconds of down-time well. Though the aches and pains and everything else that came with fighting so long made themselves apparent, he knew that he could return to the midst of battle if he had to. He stretched out his shoulders and tilted his head to the sound of battle nearby.

"That's what I'm doing, I thought," he replied, narrowing his eyes a little. Sephiroth should be giving credit where credit was already due, given how the silver-haired man hovered when he vomited. "Hey, it was to save a friend. It wasn't because I wanted to or enjoyed it."

A slender brow rose up when Cloud's eyes narrowed. He would give credit, but he wanted to keep that arrogance strong within his Meister so that any potential setback could be avoided. Sephiroth didn't say anything, but the 'oh is that what you're doing' expression on his face told Cloud everything.

"Yes, that is why you had to get all of the accessories to go with the dress," Sephiroth said with a subtle snort, but there was the barest hint of a smile on his lips.

He watched Sephiroth give him that look, and he huffed indignantly. He would prove that he was capable of beating this set-back, and he would rub that look right off of the ex-General's face when it happened. He wouldn't take any less, not when there was a challenge for his fierce determination.

"If you're going to do something, you may as well do it right," he replied, sounding as indignant as he still looked. "It wasn't my fault that Corneo had horrible taste in women by picking me."

It seemed that the look he had given the blonde had given him the reaction that he'd wanted. That fierce determination meant that Cloud would do everything within his power to try and regain his health.

"Mmm it sounds like like an excuse to me," Sephiroth said instead. Grunting lightly, the ex-General turned away from Cloud as he moved a few steps away from his Meister. The sounds of battle could be heard not far off in the distance, but he ignored it for now. "Yes... such a horrible decision."

Technically the military taught him that lesson. Do it right the first time and don't have to worry about repeating your work the second. Besides, making fewer mistakes saved lives, and even if it had been one of those really weird situations, they came out better for it. Well, more or less.

Tilting his head to the side as Sephiroth stepped away from him, he managed to put a scowl on his face. "What do you mean by that? It was a horrible decision. No one else would have made that call except him."

Sephiroth's gaze turned to the mouth of the alleyway, but his attention remained on Cloud. He would watch out for danger, but as of yet, the ex-General could sense nothing nearby. That was something, he supposed, but the turn in topic was beginning to tread on waters he wondered were best left untouched.

"Perhaps I mean nothing by it," the ex-General said in return. "You had fooled all the other males and even that companion of yours until told otherwise, if my memory serves me correctly."

Sagging a little on his feet, he huffed loudly as if to dispel the words that Sephiroth was saying. This seemed like an odd conversation to be having in the middle of a war zone, but then again, it was better here than their apartment. At least the conversation could be broken up at any time.

"I suspect they were on some kind of substance to know recognize another guy in a dress," he replied stiffly. "Unless you're making me do this because you like me in a dress too? Want to peek up my skirt, huh?"
