[CLOSED] [WATERWAY] [2:27am] lionborn May 25 2011, 02:10:43 UTC
Why had he thought that moving between the inner and outer districts had been a good idea again?

Threading cold water, Leo once more decided that god, he hated bridges! Especially those that suddenly broke beneath him due to some previous damage from a battle or what the hell did he know. Being a human, Leo knew how to swim but dammit, he was also half feline and thus did . not . like surprise baths!

Spying a figure close-by, the Half didn’t consider long before calling out to it. “Oi!”

Leo growled at the notably stupid question. Paddling closer, he gave who he now recognized as Alucard a dark glare.

“No shit batman! The bridge broke when I tried to cross it. Give me a hand.”

There was little room for manners when you were soaked and trying to swim with roller skates on your legs.

The wheels of Leo's machines slid awkward over the wall as he tried to assist Alucard with pulling him up, prompting him to use some choice words as he struggled to get out of his unplanned defenseless position as soon as possible.

Brushing the water off as good as was possible, he checked their surroundings with a displeased expression. "Yeah, some on that trip to Arizona and then some here. They're ugly fuckers."

"...Have you?"

"Really?" Interestingly, Leo's face fell in disgust rather than fear. Huffing to himself, he muttered "Those damn fuckbags just don't know when it's enough" before turning to Alucard. "Guess we better get going, then. I tried to break some of their necks but they just keep getting up again- Can you run?"

Leo cursed, seeing no need in questioning the others words. He was used to people with beyond human senses and there were a few indistinguishable noises around that he himself didn't like, now that he started to look. A trickle behind the wall on the other side of the waterway, a soft dragging noise, from the upper around of two houses to their left. Shadows that might or might not be natural, may the weird local architecture and the people switching off their lights when they evacuated be damned. All together, they spelled one thing. Trouble.Feeling his lips part ever so slightly into a barring of his fangs, he barely tensed when he felt Alucard draw closer, his tall aura and shape towering Leo's easily. The Half wasn't sure what he liked less, not being the biggest predator around or the suggestion behind Alucard's words ( ... )

"Bludgeon. Right." Leo hoped that the other couldn't hear the hysteric note in his voice as he inwardly cringed at the idea of letting somebody that close, scarred of what the other might get to know when they tried and resonated. What if it wasn't just enough but successful? What if he recognized him as the monster that Leo really was, without all the carefully constructed layers of humanity and morals that he wore like a mask so that he could bear looking in the mirror? (A mask that good he had even believed into it himself until it had been torn away from him that forcefully that day...) The human husk had been broken and Leo still didn't dare to wonder what it was that had emerged from it. That, what he was-Alucard had gotten half a step too close as that he could just shrug it off and not care about it anymore ( ... )

As soon as the weapon had taken form Leo grabbed it, raising it carefully before rearranging his grip and slipping into a fighting stance. When the first one strikes from behind he is ready, swinging the sharp tool like a baton against its shoulder while he lowers his balance and skates back at the same time, somehow successfully managing to get the first kishin egg between himself and its comrade that was also about to charge.

Leo tensed momentarily at the sensation touching the other's weapon form gave him, stance weary and eyes darting as he tried not to keep any of their opponents an opening.

"Really? nice knowing that.", his voice was laced with sarcasm, though it was mostly aimed at the situation they'd found themselves in rather than the well-meant advice. When the next attack came he was ready, ducking beneath a hit that could have taken his head from his shoulders and skidded once more behind the monster, sticking the blade lightning-fast through the junction of it's knees - and froze in surprised horror as the thing stumbled forward with a yowl and took the sword with it.

"HUH?!!"
