[ Well, Iceland had made a mental note to visit the people he know who's also got injured, but that's not his main concern for the moment - his main concern, at the time being, was to recover completely and go home. His group can be considered lucky, as well, although it's probably because they're not on the front line. But they'd faced their fair share of stray kishin eggs, and thanks to that, he had his fair share of minor injuries.

He was checking the DEMISE network when Shizuo decided to pay him a visit. It was unexpected, but then again, most of the visits are. He placed the communicator at the small table beside the bed, sat down, and gave the other his full attention. It's been a while since they actually talked. ]

Hey. [ Scrutinising Shizuo silently, assessing his current physical state. ] You okay?

DEAL WITH IT. (<333)

I can see that.

[ In the meanwhile, he's going to continue studying Shizuo, trying to pinpoint the smallest hint of an emotion. Or anything else, really. Watching other people is practically his part-time job. ]

Stray kishin eggs happened.

[ The nation answered briefly, teasing him a bit. ]

They're almost like the weather. [ Warning: bad joke ahead. Please fasten your seat belt, if you have any. ] "The weather today will be exceptionally hot and humid, with 90% chance of kishin eggs."

[ In that horrible voice much like the weather forecaster, except that it's...monotone. Deadpan at its finest. Complete with extra deluxe lineface. ]

Exactly.

[ Well, it wouldn't be a proper war without something inevitable, would it? Not that the Witches are avoidable, but they're at least more avoidable than the kishin eggs. The number of kishin eggs Iceland had encountered during his stay in Death City? About 10 or so, maybe. The number of Witches he'd the misfortune to run into? None. And he's not planning to run into one. At least, not in the near future. ]

Sounds like fun. [ Partly sarcasm. ] Is there anything particularly interesting happening during the assault?

[ Neither does his team. It's not like they were running around looking for trouble, like Shizuo's team, but still. It's a little disappointing, actually, but in a good way - he's perfectly aware that "encountering something unexpected" means death at worst and fatal injuries at best. ]

A kishin egg convention. Nice. [ He can only imagine since he only got like, one-third of those. Thankfully. ] Anything else worth noting? Something about the base, maybe, or a temporary partnership?

[ Well, Iceland have to admit that it's sort-of-nice, having company while he's stuck in a hospital bed. Otherwise he had to rely on his SC to keep things interesting. ]

That, and the Witches convention.

[ Now that's what he called shitty. ]

He had a...triangle fringe? [ ...okay. That's weird. But he doesn't judge people's fringes. He still made a face unconsciously, though. ] I can't say I know someone who matches that description. I think. [ Not that it matters. ] Anyway, anything worth noting considering the base?

It'll be the end of the world. And it's going to suck so hard.

[ At least other apocalyptic myths are cooler. Not that he cares about the destruction of this world, it's not his own world anyway, but it's hard not to care when you're stuck in it. ]

I'm not familiar with Motochika, but yeah, I doubt that anyone with a triangle fringe had a decent hairdresser.

[ Gossip boys. ]

True. [ Sage nod of agreement. ] Maybe we could just bomb it or something before it gets too out of control.

[ Fighting? Fighting is for fools! ]

Well, at the very least, he's not a fictional character. [ He made a face, most likely unconsciously. ] But it still feels weird, isn't it? Talking to someone who you thought only exists in your textbook and in some distant past.

[ Actually, pot calling kettle here, but obviously he thinks that he's normal, just like birds and trees and whatnot. Doesn't matter that some people has told him that the truth is the other way around. Anyway, he looked thoughtful for a while, but at what Shizuo said next, he snorted. ]

Try not to think about it too much. It's easier when you just roll with it.
