Oak Park Mall | Takuto & Aion gingaprettyboy October 3 2011, 02:06:57 UTC
Takuto burst onto the scene at a run, but immediately slid to a stop. He had never seen a Kishin Egg before, but there was no mistaking the thing that was in front of him and Aion.

It didn't look very human anymore.

Still, Takuto already knew this wasn't going to be a pleasant fight. But there were innocent people being menaced by this thing, and he wasn't going to stand by and watch. He thrust out a hand towards Aion, keeping his eyes trained on the Kishin Egg, and opened his mouth.

... He promptly shut it, remembering that Aion didn't like his shouting out encouraging things or attack names. He grit his teeth and said in a frustratingly quiet voice, "Let's do this."

Following close behind Takuto, Aion felt not at all surprised at the scene they happened upon. Honestly, battlefields... Once you had seen ten you had seen them all. Terrified noncombatants, somebody with the biggest power around causing trouble... It was the usual. His eyes lingered at the kishin egg for a moment, taking in how much like a low ranking demon it was.

His lips pulled into a little scornful smile. He had no pity for creatures like that.

"Let's." A flash of light and a gunblade was resting in Takuto's hand. Unlike the last time Aion's wavelength was calm and focused this time, providing support and purpose rather than urging ahead.

Oh, that's right. Soul Dazzle attracts enemies.... derpderp. gingaprettyboy October 3 2011, 06:58:29 UTC
With Aion's support, Takuto's wavelength surged. He felt very much bolstered by his partner's calm energy, and more than ready to take on their opponent. He narrowed his eyes and drew in a deep breath, aiming Aion at the Kishin Egg. It was a struggle not to shout something, but he managed to remain silent.

Though it suddenly appeared as if they had the Kishin Egg's full attention.

It rushed at them at an incredible speed, giving Takuto only enough time to react on instinct. He fired once hurriedly and missed, then leaped to the side to dodge. He rolled and stood quickly, already facing the monster. He passed Aion to his other hand and aimed again.

Aion appreciated the silence, even if he didn't show it. Working together with Takuto like this still felt like trying to do a rodeo on a wild horse with an oiled back, but he concentrated on focusing and stabilizing all that wild energy until he had a feeling that it cuold work. That they could work.

"Takuto!"

The warning shout was late as the kishin egg already attacked and he didn't waste time for another one when Takuto dodged and prepared for another attack. The boy acted confident but Aion could feel that there was something slightly off with the way he moved as if they were being out of balance. "Want me to help you?"

"Are you planning on not helping for some reason?" Takuto asked, a little surprised at the question. This whole meister-weapon thing was about working together, right? He had just assumed that Aion was already helping just by having such a secure wavelength.

The Kishin Egg was coming back for another attack. He hoped that either his next shot would hit, or that he'd be able to fend it off with the blade.

"I meant literally. I can turn back and wear it out." His voice was confident as a said this. Kishin egg or not, this thing was no opponent for him even in a weakened state.

Takuto frowned, firing as the Kishin Egg as it moved towards him. Although he hit it, the thing didn't seem to notice as much as he liked. Which left him using Aion's blade to block as the Kishin Egg came into close range.

"I'd hate to leave it entirely to you," he said, recognizing the confidence in Aion's voice. But he was reluctant to let go of the weapon, especially when their resonance seemed to be working so well (and he was actively using him to defend himself). "And I'd be no good against this thing without a weapon."

"You only need me to make the kill," Aion argued back, still feeling eager at the chance to take active action again rather than taking the seat of a bystander. He might have been a lot better at controlling his temper than Chrono, but even he needed to vent it and exhaust himself from time to time and taking out dummies was just not the same. "I can push it back and then return to your hand."

The word choice made Takuto's stomach turn. Aion's obvious enthusiasm only made him feel more uncomfortable, but there was no doubt in his mind that this monster had to be... taken care of somehow.

"Right then," he said, deciding he could use the moment to realign his feelings on the matter, "have at it!"

He let Aion slip from his grip so he could transform back into his demon form and attack.

The gunblade transformed back the second it left Takuto’s hand. Aion was back in his natural form and attacking the kishin egg fiercely with hands that were curled into claws before the light-effect of the change had even stopped, resulting in a disturbing effect of a holy aura covering the Sinner’s body for a couple of seconds.

Snarling a wordless battle cry, Aion ducked past an arm that had more blades than fingers and delivered a quick series of ferocious blows against the creatures head before another strike forced him to retread out of reach.

Faking another attack, the Sinner smirked wildly as he cashed in a shallow cut. Knocking the limb aside, his tail lashed out almost casually and gouged one of the creatures’ eyes out, making it howl in pain as it stumbled back.

Takuto was... not used to seeing this kind of gore.

It was... nauseating, actually, to witness Aion hacking the Kishin Egg apart. A limb--a limb--went sailing through the air and hit the ground with a disgusting, lifeless thud.

It was oozing...

He knew he was supposed to be paying attention to the battle, so he ripped his eyes from the dismembered body part, only to catch Aion's ferocious smile. It... wasn't the expression he had expected, and he realized with a sickening jolt:

He didn't like it.

Unlike Takuto, Aion didn't have any problems with this level of violence at all. He was driving the creature back mercilessly as it kept giving him more and more openings in its frantic attempts to turn the battle once more in its favor. It was obvious that it hadn't expected this level of resistance - which made it even more worthless in his mind. Ruining one if its knees with a last blow, he finally returned to Takuto's side, ready to transform once more.

"I'm done. It's time for you to deal the last blow."

I'm imagining resonance isn't going to go very smoothly.... gingaprettyboy October 13 2011, 05:34:29 UTC
Takuto held out his hand woodenly, feeling sick to his stomach. He knew, rationally, that this thing in front of them shouldn't exist. It was a monster, and had become one by hurting innocent people. A part of him was rightfully angry at it for indiscriminately attacking Christmas shoppers.

But his thoughts were dominated by the look on his weapon's face and whether this final blow was going to be more like a mercy killing. It was unusual for Takuto to feel indecisive, but he was having trouble reconciling the nature of their mission, the nausea caused by Aion's bloody attack, and his own principles.

The moment he transformed and Takuto's hand touched his handle Aion knew that something was wrong. Where their resonance usually felt like a balance act over a river filled with a rushing rainbow of energy below it felt now like red hot iron nails being dragged over his spine or a scream that echoed through his horns rather than is horns. The sensation was by far not as bad as when Pandaemonium had attacked him with its geas, but it evoked bad memories of it and it took him conscious control not to just turn back and try to end the battle himself.

"Hurry!" ...before he gave in to his instincts and simply beheaded him for giving him a sensation like that.

T^T I feel bad for Takuto... (but I am so happy it is happening?) gingaprettyboy October 15 2011, 21:33:38 UTC
The command jolted Takuto into action. The Kishin Egg was still dangerous, although wounded, and the horrible, wrenching feeling of resonance with Aion wasn't going to end until they got rid of the monster.

His grip tightened. He aimed Aion at the Kishin Egg, forcing his fears and doubts aside and trying to remind himself that he trusted the demon. Aion was his weapon, and they were here to fight Kishin Eggs and save innocent lives. He had to believe that.

He pulled the trigger.

The blast that erupted from the gunblade was a lot bigger than the last time: barely bundled raw soul-energy hit the kishin egg, searing away the upper portion of it's body and laying to waste a good portion of the wall behind it as well.

The remaining body of the creature collapsed slowly, disintegrating until only the floating red globe of a corrupted soul stayed behind.

Seeing that no more enemies were available, Aion turned back, checking their surroundings with his own eyes for any potential treats before he turned his attention to the damage they had just caused. Well, that shop wouldn't be back in business anytime soon again, though they seemed to have missed the chance of getting anything beyond that one target. Ignoring the jab of fatigue in his guts, the demon whistled. "Wow! That's pretty impressive considering we were only using your energy."
