Luke & Leo lionborn October 8 2011, 02:18:00 UTC
[Leo hadn't known what to expect when he had agreed to go onto the mission. Maybe the same kind of hectic but ultimately still civil chaos which he had encountered with the others before, but this...

His stomach churned at the sight of what had once been a 'peaceful' mall during the christmas rush. People everywhere, screaming, panic and water that was shimmering with the putrid light of things he'd rather not think about flooding the floor. The slaughter had already begun.]

Christ... [And there he had thought that his biggest worry would be to figure out what to do with Luke and that 'partnering up' idea of his.]

[Luke recoiled for a moment, covering his mouth and nose with his hand, his first thought was that this was worse then Akzeriuth, at least there everyone was working together to get away from the miasma. Not wanting to be the person he had been in that town he decided that instead of staying away and aloof from these people he needed to help them.]

We should start... protecting people should be our first priority, I think, also keeping us and the people away from that water as much as possible.

Yeah, but how.... ?!

[There was an edge of panic in his voice, paired with a growl of frustration. He wasn't good with making humans do anything, even if he could lead the gang when Ryoki hadn't been there.]

I... I guess by directing those that can still think sensibly, the others might follow them. I... don't have any practice being a real leader though.

[Luke had caught the bit of panic and was trying not to let it get to him. One of the things he had been taught about being a leader was to keep from letting panic get a hold of you. People in a panic fed off each others panic, just raising the level over all.]

Fuck! [Usually Leo didn't curse at random without a good reason, but this situation was really deserving it. Why did he keep getting stuck in situations that reminded him of a past he had decided to bury and forget? Cursing under his breath, he turned to Luke.]

I'll get their attention, you try and make sure that they're going the right way. [Without waiting for a reply, he turned around and started shouting commands at the panicked customers, using a tone of voice that carried wide and demanded respect. It was obvious that he wasn't doing this kind of thing for the first time.]

[Since he didn't get any chance to say no Luke nodded acceptance, he would do the best he could and he would have to hope that things would work out.

He waited as Leo began shouting, waiting for the moment when what would probably be the most people were paying attention as would and took that moment to step up and start giving instructions.]

Everyone, start moving towards the exist, please try to keep things orderly and peaceful, pushing could cause delays. If there are people in your way not moving work your way around them don't try to make them move.

[He pointed toward one of the banks of doors.]

That way is the nearest exit.

You heard what he said, get going!

[Leo bellowed, already moving towards the direction from where all the people were running from.]

[Luke quickly moved to follow Leo, wanting to make sure they didn't get split up. He didn't want either of them coming back from this with serious injuries, though he would have been stupid to assume that they could come out unscathed.]

Alright, so we will fight like we practiced if we run into any of those Kishin Eggs, right?

Yeah. [Keeping his eyes ahead, Leo slowed a bit down to allow Luke to catch up to him and to make sure that everybody was following their orders. More or less, but whatever, as best as humans could do it at least.]

The plan's like this: There's a lot of confusion going on and lots of people who can get hurt bein' in the way. There's others besides us here to fight. [He nodded a curt nod to himself, thoughts racing as he came up with a plan on the get go.] The best way to get as many as possible hurt is to attack where everybody'll need to pass if they want to escape. We have no clue how to stop whatever's causing this shit, so we'll leave doing it to the others and stay here making sure that the exit stays open and people can get out. Limit the numbers of casualties as much as we can.

[He paused, giving Luke an awkward look.] ...I'm no good at helpin' people so I'll need your help with that. You game?

Okay, It sounds like something we can pull off together. We should stay ready for a fight too, if anything pops up, so we should stick close together. If we do get separated... try to get somewhere tall to find each other.

[Luke does his best to sound sure of himself, even when he feels like shaking.]

......

[Really, he should know better than to try and hide stuff like that from a street thug with animal sharp senses. Hearing the strange note in Luke's voice, Leo turns around.]

Hey, don't tell me you're worried! Compared to the time wen we first met this'll be a piece of cake! All we have to do is to hold out make sure nobody hurts themselves in their panic.

I... don't know if it's really fear, so much as... being around people who are like this. Back home sometimes I would end up fighting and killing soldiers, but they were trained fighters and knew what they were doing, even then I didn't like it; I'm afraid to have to get violent against any of these people.

Luke, if we have to break some bones then it's because those guys want to hurt us first. There's no innocent or not here, it's enemies and not-enemies. It's simple as that.

I know, I trust you not to go after the wrong people. It's just... I don't want to accidentally hurt people who don't deserve it.

Trust me... [That's more than what he can say about himself. He had attacked people he shouldn't have before and there'd been very few cases in which he'd been sorry for it.]

Ya should really lear how tha worry about yourself first before caring for random strangers.
