Kujaku spent much of his time similarly bored. Talking to people on the network could only occupy so much of his time, and he felt he needed something to do besides that and training. So he walked. He explored the city. He read the books and found himself surprised because the letters didn't look familiar, but he could read them anyway-

Today, he didn't get past the park. There was a lingering feeling in the air he knew startlingly well. A whisper in the back of his head, too quiet to make out the words, but too loud to be effectively ignored.

The streets were empty. Otherwise he would've never heard the scraping of oversized, clawed paws on the pavement. Kujaku moved towards the disturbance, cursing the fact that he didn't have a weapon, living or otherwise.

She hadn't exactly reached Tomoe's location, but there was a reason for the hold up. Those claws against the pavement that Kujaku heard were the Kishin Egg's as it found a new target. The young detective was unable to fight without the aid of another Weapon or Meister; all she could do right now was dodge and counter with kicks to drive the Coyote Kishin back before it could bite her.

The next lunge, Naoto hissed, feeling the claws just scrape her side. She scowled and turned, her attempted kick falling short as it leap backwards. What... Maybe she should've called Minato. Still, had no one else come at the SOS?

Kujaku was none too happy to find his student targeted by this huge doglike creature.

"Some mess you're in," he declared when he rounded a corner behind her at a run. Naturally, he had the Kishin Egg's attention as quickly as he had hers. The good news were that he was not technically weaponless anymore, but on the other hand, he was not sure if weilding her would be easy. ...or possible.

"Ah! Kujaku-sensei...!"

Well, she didn't expect him to come here, but at least it was someone. They had a chance, but could he wield her? Perhaps as a sword instead of a gun... though, could they even form a resonance. There weren't left with too many options with the Kishin Egg advancing on them both.

"Either transform now, or run." His voice sounded strangely calm for being under threat. While Kujaku left the choice to her, she had to choose fast while he kept his eyes on the creature. On the up side, it seemed uncertain about which of them to go for first, even if it bared its teeth in what might have well been a grin.

"... I'm not leaving you here to fight without a Weapon."

She moved slowly, closer to him with her eyes still focused on the coyote in case it made any sudden moves. Holding her hand out towards him, she shifted forms without another world, assuming her Gun form.

He took the hint, and took her hand. Transforming certainly was a sight, and the gun felt heavier than it reasonably should be, but more than that, it didn't feel like just a weapon. Her change in form had the Kishin Egg easily make up its mind. Luckily, Kujaku didn't have trouble dodging it, and seemed to flow out of the way of the lunge.

"Sensei..."

The resonance seemed fine between them. They had a similar goal in mind... "Push the trigger forward if you'd rather use a sword."

What Naoto probably hadn't expected was the initial surge of panic-tinted rage that greeted her when Kujaku heard her voice in his head. Rejection, and quite a fierce one at that, even though he calmed himself again quickly.

"Alright..."

Still hesitant, tentative. But he tried anyway, if she'd still let him.

She flinched at that actually. The momentarily severed resonance caused a jolt of pain, but nothing that couldn't be handled.

"Sensei... try to remain calm. If you reject me, I'll be injured and forced to turn back."

So far, she seemed to be allowing him to do as he pleased, the gun form smoothly and quickly changing into its blade form.

Since it was just her, it was possible for him to allow the resonance, but the cautious mindset didn't change. The shift in form seemed to make him more comfortable, at least.

"...I see," he both said and thought - he hadn't thought it might hurt her if he rejected this connection. Kujaku quieted the nagging reminder of other, more unpleasant and less easily severed bond as much as he could, but with the madness wavelength it remained like an itch in the back of his skull. The wariness remained, but he was calm now, moving to meet the Kishin Egg's next lunge.

He dodged it fluidly, while Naoto's blade dug through the fur and flesh of its side, leaving a long gash.

Resonating like this, Naoto felt something... strange. It wasn't her, but some inkling within the link being past by Kujaku. Still, she decided not to linger on it and focus on the Kishin.

It was different being wielded by him than by Minato. Kujaku moved easily around the coyote and brought her blade into its side with little effort. She leered at the Egg as she cut through, still watching as it landed with a stumble, growling.

Killing was something he did well, but swordfighting was what he did best. Kujaku didn't want to wait for it to attack again, so he took the initiative and moved forward as it landed. Hoping to avoid the fangs he swept to the side of the narrow street to strike at the coyote again while it was still busy turning.

That left the possibility of getting cornered by a foe this big, but he was confident he could deal with that should the situation arise.

The Kishin Egg was caught across the face, yowling. Naoto's eyes narrowed at the sound, but then, she nodded.

"I doubt it will last much longer." It had some fight left, but another clean strike might be able to end it.

Only now did he realize he'd given the thing a wound to mirror his own scar without meaning to.

"This will end it."

Kujaku refused to think much on that, shifted his hold on the sword and dove in low from the side, aiming to stab the sword upwards through the throat. The situation left him in no mood to be playing around.

So... this was how it was like to be wielded by a sword expert. The coyote had only whipped its head back to attempt a blinded strike at Kujaku when its throat met blade. Its jaw was open, but no sound came out as the blood spilled. Naoto felt its weight and how the Kishin Egg just began to fall apart to nothing, but its soul.
