[Ryuuji hasn't visited the training gatherings those last days. If asked he won't tell anybody the reason for it but the fact that he's wearing a set of warm ordinary winter clothes rather than his onmyouji outfit and still looks a bit bruised should give anybody who's curious enough some hints as to why.

Watching the others train, the teen frowns lightly, looking mildly unhappy. He knows that he needs to come up with a way that will help him make up for his lacking powers and partner in DC, but that doesn't change the fact that his lack of height (less than 5'5) makes most of the offered fighting methods rather useless.]

[Tifa spots Ryuuji as she's also watching the people training, and after hesitating a little, she heads over to him. They hadn't seen each other since their brief fight in the mall, and while they hadn't left on a bad note necessarily, it seemed fair to say they didn't really know what to make of each other. At least, she had no idea what to think of him.]

Hey. [She gives him a nod when she's close enough] You seem to be doing better.

Hey. [He gives her a brief nod in return, looking neither welcoming nor too stand-offish (which equals a warm welcome in his case).] It's you.

[He shrugs.] I'm used to getting hard knocks. How are you?

[She crosses her arms over her chest, looking from him to those he was watching and gives a small shrug]

Not bad. Everything's healed pretty well. Have you been in any other fights since then?

[He shrugs, ignoring the movement that would have made most of his classmates drool.]

In one. I wanted to try out what I can do against an opponent that isn't one of those kishin eggs.

[Glances back at him, raising her eyebrows]

Oh yeah? How'd it go? [She was pretty curious about how his unusual powers would work against a usual opponent]

[His expression falls once again back into a scowl.]

Not as good as I'd have liked or otherwise you'd have heard of some trashy nonhuman guest here gone missing.

[She turns more to him, dropping her arms and staring a bit]

You were actually trying to do damage to another person here??

[He returns her gaze calmly.]

That's the point of training. Relax, I wouldn't attack a human seriously. [Others, though... ]

[She narrows her eyes a little at him]

You said 'nonhuman' earlier. So it's okay to hurt them if they're nonhuman?

[She has friends who are nonhuman, thank you very much]

I'm an onmyouji.

That means that it is my job to exorcise everything that does not belong into the human world whenever I encounter it.

Maybe in your own world, anyone nonhuman is evil, but you can't be naive enough to assume that same rule applies everywhere. There are many nonhumans here and I don't know any that are evil.

O-hoh? Then what about the thing that we beat to death at the mall that other day? That didn't look very human to me anymore, either.

Kishin eggs are different... They're not the guests here who are trying to fight just the same as you. [Stubbornly You can't justify attacking them because they aren't the same species at you.

Would you rather have it that I brought one of those creatures into the city to train? Those kishin eggs are everyday mortals who let themselves get corrupted and fall into the resulting darkness... Thinking that only locals are useless enough to be affected by that is damn righteous of you.

That said, I don't care about their race. I only care about what they are.

I never said the guests here couldn't turn into Kishin Eggs... but I doubt that you're able to train on them here, like you said.

[She eyes him levelly, putting her hands on her hips] If you're going to challenge guests here, challenge them regardless of whether they're human or not. I'll take you on anytime.
