[Selendis is here every morning, ready and waiting for anyone that wants a good fight.]

[There was no way Selendis was going to cooperate. Especially not with the ghost climbing up her back like she was a little Kwah-Kai. She made no attempt to reach around and grab her, knowing Kerrigan would find a way to avoid her grasp.

Instead Selendis ducked down into a roll, using her hands and elbows to push herself and not completely crush Kerrigan at the same time. She'd shake her off before she even got a good grip on her.]

[Scrambling up a Protoss was more difficult then she last remembered, but then again, she had been busy slicing their nerve cords at the time. That was foul play here, and it was simply sparring not actually for damage. So she scrambled...

and then the world began to twist, and she shoved off hard, flipping in the air to keep an eye on the rolling Protoss. She landed nearby and huffed noisily before circling around to look for new weakness in the stance.]

[Selendis felt her push off, glad for it but well aware she'd just have to prepare for something else. The ghost was resourceful, she had to give her that. She was upright and back on her feet in an instant, crouched down and facing off against Kerrigan.

She watched Kerrigan circle for a moment, then darted forward, making a wide swipe with her arm to knock her back.]

[Her green eyes narrowed as Selendis closed in the distance between them. It was something like watching a Goliath rampage across a short distance minus the guns and replacing those with large grasping hands. Kerrigan suddenly remember why she hated fighting the Protoss.

Still, she drove herself to the side at the last minute, rolling across the grass and rising quickly to her feet. How did she kick out the knees on creatures where they face backwards without her psychic powers as a boost?] Hmpt, how annoying.

[She didn't pursue as Kerrigan dove out of the way, instead setting her feet and staying low to the ground. Ready to move, and looking every bit as dangerous as a feral animal. She tilted her head to the side when Kerrigan spoke.]

Your meaning?

[She gave Selendis a measured stare for a long moment before she rose from her readied stance. She set her hands on her hips and shook her head, not finding anything wrong with honesty during combat.]

Your knees don't make it easy to drop you like I would a Terran. It's annoying. [She shrugged, meaning no offense.] I haven't had a good fight like this in awhile though. Figures it comes from a Protoss.

[Was that a compliment? Well, when it came to combat, Selendis was all business. While she didn't relax, she did stand up when Kerrigan's own stance became more casual.]

As Templar, I dedicate my life to combat. As for my knees, it is up to you to determine another method of defeating me.

Oh, I've put down enough Templars on Tarsonis. They were Tassadar's warriors, but he didn't seem to hold it against me much. [Her fingers flexed against her hip, and she took in the difference in stance, waiting.

And then she was back on the move, exploding into motion and closing the distance rapidly. She leapt, trying to set a foot to one of Selendis' thighs to launch higher with less effort on her part.]

[There was no reason to reply to that, even if Kerrigan was trying to incite her. She herself had killed a number of terrans, and it wasn't exactly something to be proud about. It was a necessity of war.

Selendis went on the defensive immediately, throwing her arms up in a cross to block the woman from striking her.]

[Forced to redirect her attack because of the quick block, she moved to seize one of Selendis' wrists. However, she quickly realized based on their height difference and Selendis' brute strength that it would be impossible for her to twist it around behind the Protoss' back.

Instead, she abandoned the attack half-way through the attempt, backing off so that she could attack at a different angle.]

[Selendis didn't give her the chance, pushing after Kerrigan while she tried to back off. In most spars, Selendis was content to let her partners take the offensive. With Kerrigan, though, she knew the former ghost could handle whatever she dished out.

She lashed out with her fist again, going down low so there was no chance of losing her balance.]

[Kerrigan grunted as Selendis' fist impacted with her side, sending to aside with the weight of her blow. She landed on her feet, skidding in the grass until she came to a stop and quickly stretched her side to make certain nothing was damaged.

The pain she shook off easily, rolling her shoulders before she cautiously circled again looking for an opening. Selendis was one of the few people willing to actually hit her, and that made this spar worth it.]

[She only paused briefly to let Kerrigan get her bearings, something she normally wouldn't do under actual combat circumstances. The goal here wasn't to kill, despite her opponent. At least Kerrigan kept going after getting hit - Clare had a long way to go before she reached that point.

Selendis followed the path of her tight circle, again keeping low. She struck out with an open palm this time, sweeping towards Kerrigan's legs.]

[She knew that an opening would not present itself while she was circling; Selendis was too good at hand-to-hand for that to happen. So, she waited as she circled, picking the opportunity that presented itself when the Protoss struck out at her.

She neatly leapt the swiping arm, fully aware there was a second one on the defensive, but she was entering her own attack range. Sliding in quickly, she drove her fingers in towards the side of Selendis' neck. There may not be a trachea to crush, but surely there was blood vessels to traumatize.]

[Kerrigan had quite a bit of armor to past as well, but typically Selendis' shields would prevent anything from getting too far. She'd learned her lesson the way that those shields weren't functional, and Kerrigan was far too close for comfort.

Her fingers struck home, but did very little damage, at least as far as a protoss with war wounds was concerned. It certainly hurt, and Selendis used her free hand to grab Kerrigan's wrist, hauling her back. Every hit Kerrigan landed would be returned without hesitation.]
