[Tommy is wearing his usual patient smile. Don't let him fool you, though, he's not exactly a softy about it, though. Let's get some training done, people!]

[Defensive was good, as his main goal for the beginners was to teach them how to defend themselves, rather than attack. They could learn more of that once they knew enough to keep themselves alive long enough to even think about attacking.]

Here we go.

[He's a very focused teacher, in that respect. He thinks he has a good grasp on her technique by now, and he doesn't push too hard. An important part of training is letting people realize how they have advanced, to get a grasp of what they can do, before one starts explaining what can be improved.]

{Right. Focus, Jazz. It was all about observing and keeping an eye on what your opponents was hinting at doing. Easy in theory but...she knew so little about fighting something human.

Well! Best way to learn is by doing! Kinesthetic learning and everything. She kept her defense up, trying not to looked surprised if she managed to block a move or dodge out of the way. Dodging seemed a lot easy so she went with that; which meant she was in the lovely snow more often then not...]

[Slowly, he worked up the difficulty, making dodging harder. Distractions would end up causing the first stumble, he supposed. But he wanted to see how far she had gotten, and how much he could push her now. Training someone was always a case of careful observation and noticing the small changes. No one became god-like good from one day to the other, but sometimes the progression was hard to spot. And Tommy liked making note of it, it was encouraging for students.]

[No wait, dodging is suppose to be the easier part! Now she's stuck with blocking (And still falling sometimes. She's improved in stamina rather obviously, which is something. She stills seems to be anticipating attacks and tensing instead of bringing up to block however.

Other then that she's holding her own but it's waning.]

[He stays on the same rhythm for a longer moment, as if to try and lull her into a pattern. He's impressed with her handiwork, though, and her improvement. They feel rewarding, but he can also note where there needs to be some more improvement. He'll tell her about it after they're done. In the meantime, he continues the steady pace, calmly and still in control.]

[Okay! Changing rhythm is going to throw her off and she's back to that dodging defensive. Except she is a Fenton and that Jack temper does raise up; but unlike her brother she can control it (most of the time). So it just makes her get back up and try a few kicks since that's what she is most comfortable with.

Easily blocked but she's trying!]

[Oh, that's good! He's really excited about all her enthusiasm - don't tell him it's temper, he thinks it's enthusiasm - and it just makes him want to push her a bit harder now, because she can take it, clearly. He flashes her a grin, beaming even amidst the whole thing.]

[Sure! Let's go with enthusiasm!

She wasn't planning on any of that actually making things harder! Jazz gave a little eep and brought her hands up to block.]

Ah!

Hang in there, you're doing fine!

[A little encouragement never hurt someone. Now with added difficulty to make things fun. Isn't this fun, Jazz? I bet you already forgot you were freezing a few minutes ago.]

[No! Not fun! Because Jazz isn't really used to failing. So can we go back to the being cold? Because that didn't end with her butt first in the snow and wanting to flop back into it.]

I keep waiting for you to jump over me.

[She stands up and dusts the snow off her cloths.]

It is not normal to want a thermos to fight with. That's just weird.
